Men's Soccer Coach Resigns

Fred Thompson has "resigned" as head men's soccer coach today. Not really a surprise, as his record with BG was 18-69-8. Not sure if it was just a lack of talent issue or if Thompson was the problem, but he certainly had enough time to start winning. He is a good guy, and I wish him the best in his future.

Coach Thompson was never able to get over that hump and get the program back to it's winning past. I wish him well, too, and hope GC finds a guy that can get us back to the level we were under Mel Mahler. BG used to be a powerhouse.

Early candidates for the job reportedly include Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin.
