Very sad to learn this. Awful news anytime a BGSU program gets cut. I hate to think how those girls must feel right now.

Not surprised. They lost a good coach when the men's team were cuts (I always like both the Diving coach and the head swim coach when the men had a team).

The Falcons have gone through six diving coaches over the past seven years according to Knavel.

It has to be almost impossible to have any consistency with that high of a turnover. Maybe it's the facility. Seriously though, i'm sure this has to have more than a little to do with the high turnover.

The part-time position paid $12,000, according to Knavel.

How does the department expect to attract and keep a coach when that is the salary?? It looks like football isn't the only sport where the assistant coaches are underpaid. I feel bad for those three women. Hopefully the department is doing everything it can to get them on teams at other schools.
