It's time BG baseball ends its losing streak to Kent State!

Post by BGSU33 »

BG has lost its last nine consecutive games against Kent State in baseball and hasn't won against the Golden Flashes since 2004! KSU has swept BG in each of the last three, three-game series that have played in 2006, 2007 & 2008. The two schools did not play in 2005. Below is a look at the last three series results (many of the games weren't even close). BG has been oustcored 83-22 in the last three series (with an average score of 9-2) and the Falcons didn't score more than four runs in any game during that span. It's time to end the losing streak this weekend!

Lost 6-1 in 2008
Lost 15-1 in 2008
Lost 11-3 in 2008
Lost 8-3 in 2007
Lost 3-2 in 2007
Lost 8-4 in 2007
Lost 11-3 in 2006
Lost 15-2 in 2006
Lost 6-3 in 2006

There is good reason they are ranked #24 in the NATION this week! If BG ever gets a major upgrade to their facility, we will be there too! I think we are on study # 68 on that one!

FM is correct...I go over to Kent State when BG comes to town and their facilility is great.

BG leads Kent State in almost every sport...except baseball. We trail badly in that all time series.

FM, you coming over for the games? I should be there Sat and Sun..hopefully!

As someone who doesn't know much about MAC baseball and has never seen a game at any of the other MAC baseball fields besides BG (though I have seen Toledo's field) I was just wondering what the top facilities in the MAC have that make them the top facilities in the conference

I've been to all 12 facilities and IMO, Miami, Central Michigan and Ohio have the nicest baseball stadiums. Kent State's has improved with the recent renovations, but MU, CMU & OU are the class of the MAC in baseball facilities IMO. Some of the pictures may not due them justice, but when you see them in person, you really can see why they stand out.

Judging from those pics, all of those facilities look very nice. I remember visiting a friend at OU and on a late Saturday I went on a walk-about by myself. I came across their field and pretended I was Mike Schmidt and ran the bases a few times. I was completely sober  . Just one of those dumb memories I thought I'd share. It seemed like a nice facility even in complete darkness roughly 13-14 years ago.

If you went on that walk to the stadium about 13-14 years ago, you would have been at OU's old stadium, it used to sit on the corner right beside the Convo & Peden Stadium. They've been playing in their new one for ten years or so, it's on the other side of the Convo near the Hocking River and sits next to the softball field and track/turf field facility.

To add to this thread, as mentioned I think the Miami, CMU and Ohio have the nicest baseball stadiums in the MAC, but you should even see how nice Miami's softball stadium is! Take a look at the photo gallery of their softball stadium. Below is the link, click on the photo gallery link near the top left-hand side of the page. This place blows away many MAC baseball facilities. The place has seating that wraps around the plate area, additional grass hillside seating about the dugouts, lights for night games, a nice bullpen down the right-field line, and check out the seating section down the right-field line/right field. It also has a nice concourse.

Like I said...I was completely sober :) Heck, their old facility was nicer than what BG has now.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Feels great to finally end the losing streak!!! Does anyone know when the last time BG baseball beat a ranked team? Kent State was ranked #24 by Collegiate Baseball this week. Now let's get at least one more and take the series!
