....and if the score they announced were correct, that should put us in a first place tie with Kent.

Factman: Did Carbone get ejected because his pitcher was ejected? Or was he ejected for being himself?

Evidently it had to do with where the incoming pitcher warmed up, as the umpire told him if he went to the bullpen he (Carbone) was gone, rather than warming up on the mound. I guess that qualifies as Carbone being Carbone!

I alway thought PH people were rather knowledgeable about baseball until today. They sorta made a fool of themselves.

Did anyone think the umps were as terrible as OU and PH fans made them sound?? I personally didn't, but I dont know everything about baseball.
Was that ejection unnecessary? I thought it looked pretty intentional.....

I did not think either HBP warranted an ejection.
In fact, an OU player was hit earlier and made absolutely no effort to move.
I did not see a warning issued after that. That was why I was so surprised the OU pitcher was ejected. It did not look intentional to me.
I was surprised at the number of balks (3) called on the second OU pitcher.

The reason for the ejection was more from the timing than the action. It came as the first pitch after a BG home run and was a fastball right in the middle of the batters box. It is relatively common in baseball to "move the next batter off the plate", following a HR, but not be quite so obvious!

The later one that BG threw had absolutly NO intent as it was a slow breaking ball that put the winning run at the plate, and if anyone thought that is what they wanted to do, they have to be "nuts". It made no sense in baseball stratgedy, but the OU pitch had " a purpose", from the umpires point of view.
On two of the OU balks, the left handed pitcher stepped toward home plate but threw to first. He must step directly to the base within 45 degrees to be a legal pick move. On the third on, he simply didn't stop in his stretch and that is something every Little Leaguer know you must do. He was using a quick slide step to try and hold the runner on first.
