Not the season Coach V was hoping for

On her march to 500 wins, you have to think Coach V was hoping for a strong season. I thought she was going to get just that when the volleyball team opened by winning 6 of its first 7 matches.

But things have really bottomed out. It's hard to fathom, but last Friday's win over Eastern Michigan was BG's FIRST MAC win of the year and broke an 11-match losing streak, not to mention being the first time the Falcons weren't swept in 6 matches.

The Falcons are 1-7 in the MAC and start a grueling five-match road trip starting Friday.

Sure hope things start to improve over the next week or so and that the Falcons can make some noise come tournament time!

Man, I knew we were young but I never expected this. Maybe someone who watches these matches on a regular basis can chime in on what the deal is. Maybe it is all youth. I'm sure we'll be better eventually. Just may take more time than originally thought.

Just a tough season so far...it happens. Coach V has done such a great job over the years but this team is very young and the growing pains are evident.

Keep fighting, BG!

Got to see a rare Rocket v-ball win against BG today. Bg had moments of brilliance but made a number of critical errors to allow Toledo to come from behind in each of the last two games. Very exciting match and BG probably has a bright future when the current players get more experience. Toledo has had a surprisingly good Fall sports season this autumn and I think the new volleyball coach has the program on a real upswing already.

It was a good match and a nice turnout crowd-wise. Good to see some of the smaller sports get some fan support.

Thats the kind of stuff that has been killing us since the MAC schedule started, I can't even to begin to count how many sets we have lost by blowing a late set lead, easily the most frustating thing about our recent slide.
