If you have a chance, spend some time with Mickey Cochrane the next time you are on the BGSU campus. Mickey is the sports historian at BGSU and he holds court in the the Athletic Archives and Museum in Room 121 of Memorial Hall. I think that he opens the Museum before each men's and women's basketball game. I visited with Mickey in October with lacrosse player Eddie Hedrick and it was a great time. If you are a Falcon fan, there is nothing better than to hear Coach Mickey talk about Bowling Green sports history and see the Falcon memorabilia. By the way, Mickey was the men's lacrosse and soccer coach at Bowling Green during the 1960's and 1970's.

Does that dropped third strike in the '31 Series still haunt him? Sorry, it had to be said.

The Freaklings and I have taken advantage of visiting with Mickey before hoops games a couple times. He and the museum are a cornucopia of BG sports history...H2O would even love it!

I did a story about the Archives when I was with BG24 and was able to put together almost 2-minutes of awesomeness...could have done more had there been time. Even then (2006), he was very exicted for the new building which will house the Athletic Archives. He said that it would have "Aquarium style" holding places for the artifacts so they will be in the wall and not jutting out. The Stroh Center is going to be SWEET!!!
