Falcons have scored in 3 straight innings and lead the Cards, 5-1...going into the bottom of the 4th. Ball State is using their 3rd pitcher of the day.

Freshman Cody Apthorpe has pitched very well thru 3 innings allowing 1 run on just 2 hits.

Whomever designed this bracket needs to be shot. BG now has to beat #1 CMU two straight just to reach the championship game

It's a typical double elimination bracket, which is commonly used in college baseball conference tournaments, and is used in the College World Series.

I get all that, but they way it is designed, you keep playing the same team until you beat them basically. Then you play the winner from the other side. IMHO, if you are going to do this then seed the teams 1-4 in each side of the bracket based on divisional standings and not 1-8 for the whole bracket. They way they did it, we won our division and got stuck on the half of the bracket with the winner of the other division and #1 overall seed.

So either scrap the divisions or revise the tournament structure.
