This team could literally compete admirably in the MLS this season. They played #3 Wake Forest down here in Winston-Salem this past weekend and they absolutely manhandled them. I would love to see BG pull out a B!G upset this Saturday but if you want to see some really great soccer I would encourage you to head out and watch Akron play this weekend.

I have recently become a soccer fan, thanks in part to the World Cup, but mostly due to the fact that I now have FSC at home. Amanda said that the Akron home games are almost completely sold out but she should be able to snag some tickets for me so I can see them play a few times. Glad to hear they whooped on Wake and hopefully they can have a good season with just 1 loss!

Of course that means that either:

Akron beats BG this weekend and then loses one in the NCAAs

or

Akron loses this weekend and you don't want BG to win the National Championship since an Akron loss this weekend followed by running the table would mean they beat out BG for the NCAA title.

Either way you are hoping for a BG loss. Some fan you are.
