We have received so much rain in the Akron area lately that Lee Jackson field, home of the Zips, was deemed unplayable and the BG/Akron series has been moved to BG. Ya gotta be kidding me...I was planning on going to 2 of the 3 games. Sheet.

I'll take it though! I was planning on making a few games in Akron too, but considering how important these games are to us, would rather play at home - even if you are the "visiting" team. This is the second time this season a MAC three-game series has been moved. CMU had a home series moved to Miami earlier this year. Now let's sweep the Zips!

BG beat Akron 6-5 in game one. Falcons led 6-0 and almost let it get away from them in the ninth as the "visiting" team. Buffalo nearly gave us some help putting distance between us and Ohio but lost in 12 innings. Kent State continues to roll, now 16-3 in the MAC. Gotta pick up tomorrow where we left off today. GO BG!!!

Akron evens the series with a three-run, walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth....SOB! BG had a 6-4 lead heading into the ninth. BG got the first batter out, but the Zips got back-to-back singles before BG made a pitching change and then the Zips won it on the next batter with the three-run walk-off. Very costly loss here as we just couldn't close it out. Damn.

Gotta get this one today...

BG beat Akron today to win the series. VERY TOUGH series coming up against Kent State next weekend as the golden Flashes are 17-4 in the MAC! We need to at least win a game in that series to keep ahead of Ohio which is three games behind us with a series against Akron for OU next. Only two MAC series to go....keep fighting hard Falcons.

Solid win today, 5-1. KSU is playing VERY well lately...we better bring our A game every day.
