Friday's OU game...

There was some controversy in the BG/OU baseball game Friday, and it had a direct effect on the outcome of the game. The game was played under protest from OU from the 7th inning on. The MAC did come in and rule it as a final later on.

You can read the story online on the site, but essentially BG had a run taken off the board to end the 6th. The umps then looked up the rule in the middle of the 7th, and then put the BG run back on then! Falcons won 4-3.

Very interesting to say the least. I'm sorry, but college umpires need to know that rule on the spot.

BG loses the first game on Sunday 11-0. Would be nice to win the second game and take the series.

My boys and I went to cheer on the Bryan Falcons (Losby, Blaylock, Fisher and Nossaman). The first game sucked but the second game was won on a walk-off wild pitch. Really enjoyed our first game and the boys had a great time meeting the Bryan boys.

Apparently, Coach was the one that pointed out the rule to the umpires

It's a pretty simple rule in HS and I would doubt the NCAA rule is any different. It is a "timing play" and if the run scores before the appeal, the run counts. The UIC should have known the rule, as should all of the rest of the crew.
