So what's the lowdown on the team this year Factman? How do you think we're going to stack up? Hopefully we can qualify for the MAC Tournament this year.

The key will be staying healthy. Obviously, with fewer scholarships, than the teams we compete against, depth becomes a problem, and right now there are 3-4 previous starters that are on the shelf due to injuries or illness. Some of the incoming freshmen have shown signs of immediate help, and the return of Mike Frank to the pitching staff should be a BIG lift in the one or two spot. We still need the big consistent bat in the middle of the order and hopefully that will develop and enable us to compete for the top 2-3 spots in the division.
The Orange and Brown World Series is going on right now, and finishes up next week. It is currently 1-1 with the Brown team pulling out a bottom of the last inning (they play 6 inning games) win last night. Next game is Saturday ay 11am, so stop out before the football game.

Anyone planning to make any road games this year?

What are the renovations being done to the ball field right now? I saw some pics on the official site but not much else.

New backstop posts and netting, which probably won't even be notiocable to the average fan, but was sorely needed, and it will improve the view from the seating.

The BIGGEST improvement they need is for the 2-3 scholarships to be restored so we are on equal footing with the rest of the conference.

Wouldn't they have to take those scholarships away from some other men's sport in order to stay in compliance with the NCAA and Title IX?

Actually, if they add those 2-3 scholarships back, I do believe Title IX plays a part. You cannot have more scholarships for male athletes than female athletes, so these 2-3 scholarships would need to be moved from some other sport to baseball, not just created.
