With two MAC series remaining for the conference, the race for the 8 tournament spots is really close and every team is still alive. Normally this time of year, a couple of teams have usually played their way out of the race for the field at this point, but not this season. BG has a road series at OU this week followed by a home series with MAC leader UB. If we can at least split these six games, we should be in good shape to make the field this season.

The Kent Series really hurt our momentum but it was great getting 2 outta 3 from MU. I think we need to go 4-2 over the last 6 to breathe safely but one at a time.

I just hope we get into the tournament this year. It stinks being left out. We made a really nice run and few years ago. You never know what can happen once you get in, but first, you must do just that - get in. I like how the entire conference is still in the running for the 8 spots with two weeks to go. And the story of the season has to be Buffalo. Best record in the MAC and even swept Kent State. Never saw either one coming. But first, let's get this series at Ohio.

UB has been playing very well.

BG split its DH today with Ohio. Both games were won in extra innings with OU winning 4-3 in game one before BG claiming game two 7-2. The Falcons had leads in both games but at least came away with a split. Let's get game three tomorrow and win the series.

Big win, no doubt. Puts us in much better position to try and make the MAC tourney. But next up, we get the team with the best record in the MAC. Gotta at least get a win or two against Buffalo to make sure we get in. GO BG!

Good to see BG take 2 of 3 at Athens...16-2 is a beatdown. Tuesday a non conf home game with Northern KY before that BiG weekend series with UB. SR Day is Saturday. GO BG!

Buffalo hasn't lost a MAC series all season, and the Bulls swept Kent State (I know KSU isn't the same team it was towards the end of last season, but still). No better time than now to end UB's run. Let's go into the tournament with some momentum and get a decent seed.

BG beats Northern KY 13-8, Tuesday. All comes down to this weekend...Beat Buffalo!!!

Buffalo beat BG in game one today, 10-4. Gotta bounce back tomorrow.

And we lose today in extra innings, 4-3! We need a win tomorrow to clinch. There are other ways with teams winning and losing but dammit, take care of biz on SR Day and don't depend on anyone else! GRRRR....

We had runners on first and second with no outs in the bottom of the ninth in a 3-3 game and couldn't plate the game-winning run. We also had a guy thrown out at home earlier. Certainly had our chances. Gotta try and salvage the series tomorrow.

Good news today!! Walk off win in the bottom of the 9th, 5-4! BG clinches the 6th seed for the MAC Tourney. The Falcons will play #3 NIU Wed at 12:30 at All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon.

Great to see BG back in the tournament! And that we played our way in, and didn't back into it. Granted, it was about as close as it could be. Had we not won it in the end like that, we'd have been left out of the tournament as both CMU and UT won (we needed one of them to lose if we lost again). We have a tough draw facing West Champion NIU (we didn't face NIU this year) in the first game, but I hope we can win that first one and move into the winner's bracket as those are evening games on our side of the bracket and I can make the games after work. Toledo (who we swept) and Buffalo (who we went 1-2 against) are also on our side of the bracket. If we can get past NIU in game one I like our chances at making a run. Hell, it's been three years since we last won a game in the MAC Tournament. GO BG!!!
