BG @ UB, MAC Tournament picture getting clearer

BG will play a three-game series at UB starting on Thursday this week (Thursday - Saturday). This is the last MAC series and the Falcons probably need a win this weekend to assure themselves a spot in the MAC Tournament (eight teams get in to the MAC Tournament Field). Only EMU & OU have been mathematically eliminated. BG does own tie-breakers over teams like Akron & NIU who are currently in the picture but behind them in the standings. But just one win by BG would move the Falcons ahead in the standings of where WMU and UT wouldn't be able to tie or leap ahead which would then make BG a lock in the field. If the MAC Tournament started today, BG would be the #5 seed. NIU and Akron are tied at 11-13 but NIU gets the tie-break edge right now. WMU also holds the tie-breaker over UT but both need to play their way in this weekend.
