Four or five artists renderings of the new baseball stadium were revealed at a gathering Friday night and again at the Falcon Alumni Baseball Golf outing yesterday. Looks like there will be a good chance that a turf field may be in for the 2016 season and the stadium upgrades tentative goal is for the 100th year of Falcon baseball four years from now.
We heard both President Mazey and Chris Kingston outline the goals for the project over the weekend.
The golf outing was a huge success with 32 foresomes, and Chris Kingston gave one of the best "pep" talks ever given, to the group, after the dinner and awards.

Good to hear....I continue to be amazed that BGSU still hasn't returned the scholarships back to the full allotment....i don't care if they have to cut all the scholarships from soccer, golf, etc...whatever it takes the baseball program should have full scholarships.

I'd love to see the renderings. Any word on when they'll be made public?

I would guess they will go public as soon as the final design is completed. Sounds like it might be a combination of some of the ideas of each of the different ones shown. In the meantime individuals or groups can get involved in the fund raising by sponsoring a locker in the new locker room. And that is the problem.....

While I love to hear all the facility enhancements that are on the way in many different phases until a focused effort to get ALL athletic scholarships endowed the department will continue to be behind the 8 ball. Those extra funds will move the department light years into the future when it comes to budget flexibility. In addition, all sports will be able to work with a full compliment of scholarships. I would love to see this be a Falcon Club focus for the next 5 years.

Disagree 100%. I'd love all of BGSU's teams to be fully funded, but while some might value baseball over soccer, golf, gymnastics, etc., there are fans of those sports who feel just the opposite.

It is my understanding the baseball program had their scholarships cut after BACK TO BACK MAC TITLES in 2008 and 2009.....which in itself is a joke. Since then, they have won East division title in 2010 and a MAC Tournament Title in 2013.....Obviously I want everyone to be fully funded as well, but to not have your most successful men's sport fully funded is beyond dumb. I'm to the point where it doesn't matter how they do it...Get it done. Fund the program. If that hurts golf, gymnastics, soccer...so be it. Those programs haven't had the success the baseball program has had.

Speaking of scholarships, I saw on Twitter today that the MAC is now supporting a full-cost of attendance amount for athletics' scholarships. So we can't afford to fund our existing sports, and now the ones we do fund might get more expensive. Not good news for baseball or any of the other men's non-revenue sports.

WELL deserved. BG baseball has been very competitive for years under Schmitz and deserves a first class facility. If I win the Powerball, I'll foot the entire bill.

Any update on the turf? I originally heard it was a done deal for this summer.

A recruit was tweeting about the excitement for the new turf and new stadium coming up. He also said the new locker room is the best in the state of Ohio.

In this addition of the BGSU magazine (winter 2015), an artist rendition of the new stadium is pictured. It looks amazing ! The campaign will be called the, knock it out of the park campaign.
