BG in the MAC Tournament thread

Here we go! BG kicks off the tournament in the first game at 9:30. For those who can't make it you can watch live (link below). Looks like a cold and windy day in store for the Falcons. We gotta win this game to have a realistic shot at making a run. We took 2 out of 3 vs Ohio in the regular season but they've been playing really well all season long. OU had both the MAC Player and Pitcher of the Year named today and should have cleaned house with the Coach of the Year too, IMO. First thing is first, beat Ohio!

Link in all kinds of trouble in the third (walked a guy to load the bases, walked another guy to push a run across, then OU drives in two on a hit) and OU tags him for three more runs. BG now trails 4-1.

Link can't make it through the 4th. He put two more runners on and there's no outs. He's been really good all year for us but today he has had major trouble. Not looking good for the Falcons.

OU breaking it open, BG now down 6-1 and still not out of the 4th. We've already walked 5 batters, allowed 6 runs on 6 hits and have just one hit ourselves.

Not a good start at all. Following on live stats at work (You cannot expect me to work when BG is playing, right?) Hopefully we get the bats going SOON.

BG had more errors (3) than hits (2) or runs (1) heading into the top of the 9th. Falcons lose 6-2. Backs to the wall right out of the gate. Gotta turn right around and play at 9:30 AM tomorrow now against the loser or KSU/WMU.

Well s**t....it looks like WMU is about to beat Kent State (Broncos are up 5-0 in the 9th), which means BG would have to face its nemesis KSU tomorrow morning in an elimination game. OU now sitting really pretty early on at this point on our side of the bracket. I'm gonna call for them to get into the Championship game right now with this all happening. Other side starts play later today. I'd like to see CMU win its way through that side.

That would be nice. Unfortunately, BG was the only lower seed not to win on the opening day. #8 Akron upset #1 CMU, #7 WMU knocked off #2 Kent State and #5 Ball State beat #4 Toledo.

And now there are 7!!!! Would love for CMU to get knocked off. Top 2 seeds out after the 2nd day. Think OU could be the favorite but BG advances and moves on.

Very solid game all the way around for BG. Still alive but a long way to go. Still, nice to knock out the defending champ and finally win a game in the tournament (BG was swept last year and obviously lost its first game this year). OU's is my pick to win it all and the Bobcats must be looking around loving it with all the higher seeds but them getting beat. BG will play the loser of the OU/WMU next.

What a great win today!! Beating Kent on the diamond is always a task for us so to knock them out is SWEET! Heck of a pitching performance by the Freshman of the Year.

CMU down 5-1 in the 7th. One of the few times I will be rooting for the Rockettes
