Falcons are now 9-1 after rolling Mount St Mary's 12-3...final day of the Elon Softball Classic in NC. Best start in school history.
BG has outscored the opposition 67-17 so far and the only loss was a 4-3 loss to Elon. DAMN.
Falcons next head to Texas for the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic in Lubbock, March 2-4. BG will play UTSA, Texas Tech and New Mexico. Should be a great challenge and good gauge to see how good this team is.

Re: Softball off to 4-0 start...
I was struck by the fact that Bowling Green was able to get so many games in up here by playing them in an inflatable dome at Cleveland State before heading South for the usual long road trip.
What would it take to get that kind of a dome in Bowling Green?
I've always looked at BGSU baseball and softball skeptically given the weather up here. But a dome would seem to change things.
(It also, admittedly, sounds quite expensive.)
Anyway, this is a heck of a start for the softballers. Good on them.

9-1 with their one loss to host Elon who scored 2 in the bottom of the 7th to win 4-3. BG beat them the next day 6-3. I think they are going to face some better teams in upcoming tournaments but this is an excellent start.
Baseball not starting so well. two leads lost in the first 2 games and then lost yesterday. One more game today against UAB.

As long as they can keep the rust off during this 12 day layoff, the Lubbock Classic does not appear loaded. New Mexico is 2-8 and has been hit hard in losses; host Texas Tech is under .500 at 4-5; and UTSA is 6-2 playing all games at home. Games are winnable for a revamped roster \that includes west coast recruits, a transfer and 2 JUCOs.Falconfreak90 wrote:Falcons are now 9-1 after rolling Mount St Mary's 12-3...final day of the Elon Softball Classic in NC. There are two domes now in Perrysburg that they use for soccer, baseball and softball games. Not sure if they use any of those domes for college sports.Schadenfreude wrote:I was struck by the fact that Bowling Green was able to get so many games in up here by playing them in an inflatable dome at Cleveland State before heading South for the usual long road trip.

BG fared pretty well on the trip to TX. Split with UTSA, beat New Mexico and lost to TX Tech by 1 run twice. BG now 11-4. Falcons will play a DH against Abilene Christian on Tuesday.
