Valiant comeback falls short, BG swept

Well, BG waited until the second game of today's doubleheader to show life...coming back from a 4 run deficit to tie the game late. Then they gave up 2 runs in the 8th inning and ended up losing, 10-8. Miami took the first game 15-2, and won Friday's opening game fairly easily as well, 12-4, which means they swept the weekend series.

The Frat Hawks lead the MAC with a sterling 10-2 record in conference and 28-6 overall. BG is now mired in sixth place at 5-7.

The MAC schedule eases considerably next weekend, when BG will host Western Michigan, which is behind BG in 7th place with a 4-6 record. But before that happens, they have a Wednesday clash against Big Ten foe *ichigan in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines were in 4th place in the Big Ten, pending a late score on Saturday.
