BG picked up a 1-0 victory against West Virginia yesterday. That win brings their record to 4-3.

BG's next 2 matches are postponed, and I'd imagine it's because the team is facing some COVID-19 issues.

After a long layoff due to COVID and a tough loss on Wednesday last week, BG bounced back to beat Akron this afternoon, and our 4-2 Falcons currently sit atop the MAC standings with 2 matches to play.

Evidently due to the massive number of cancellations throughout the league due to COVID protocols, the MAC has decided to go by an average goals per game (at least for the men; not sure if it is the same for the women).

Coming into the Akron game yesterday, BG and Akron were tied for first place and thanks to that overtime victory, BG is now leading the conference (at least that is how I understood the play-by-play guy).

With a 2-1 OT win over NIU today, BG ends the year on top of the table as MAC regular season champions!

We’ll play for the MAC championship next week!

Are you sure? I thought this was it, that Bowling Green is MAC champion, and will play in the NCAA tournament.

I’m totally wrong - the MAC eliminated the postseason tournament, so BG is the outright MAC champ and we’ll play in the big dance.

That’s a huge accomplishment.

More fantastic BG soccer news. Couldn’t remember, have we ever won the men’s and women’s in the same year before?

It doesn't appear so.

This is men's soccer's first NCAA tournament appearance since 1997, and their first conference regular season tournament title since 2002.

Decent draw. They were middle of the pack in their conference and got hot during the conference tourney. Good chance to collect a victory and move on to play Pitt in the second round.

BG is up 1-0 on Monmouth at half time.

Very late goal in the first half puts us ahead, and we need to play a strong 2nd half to close this one out.
