Baseball at Memphis...

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Last weekend, BG went 1-2 at MTSU to open the season and should have taken 2 outta 3. Game 2 we had a 4-3 lead heading into the bottom of the 9th and FIVE walks gave the Blue Raiders a 5-4 walk off win. We dropped the opener 12-8 and won the finale 7-3.

This weekend, we travel to Memphis for 3 with the Tigers.

Falcons roll the Tigers 9-1! DJ Newman...this kid is special. 7 innings on the mound and gave up two hits. He also went 3-5 hitting including a two run homer in the top of the 9th.

Game 2 tomorrow

Newman might end up being our highest draft pick in some time. What a talent.

Newman also got robbed on of a sure 2B in the gap . Memphis RF made a great catch running into the wall in RC.

Best part of the broadcast was the Memphis team reading off the championships BG baseball has won and asking “why would they even consider cutting this program?”

Well when you hire morons to run your department for from 2006-2022 that is the kind of thing that happens.

Comical how Greg Christopher has basically turned Xavier hoops into a mediocre program. Not surprised at all.

Game 2 they got down 10-0…came all the way back to take the lead at 11-10 and again at 13-12 going into the bottom of the 9th. Gave up 2 in the 9th to lose 14-13. Nice comeback, but they better find someone to close games. That’s 2 blown saves in 2 chances.

I’ve heard from some folks in the know that he may not have that role too much longer.
