DJ Newman missed last 2 starts?

Anyone hear why Newman has missed his last two starts pitching? He is still DH'ing.

I didn't know this, but BG is facing its first big challenge of the conference season: they lost the series to Kent 2-1, getting hammered in the finale today after shutting KSU out yesterday.
The good news is they are returning home to face Toledo in one game on Tuesday and then host Western Michigan for a 3 game set next weekend. WMU is the closest to them in the standings (5 games behind). If they do well in BG, they put themselves back into the conference race. If BG prevails, they clinch a spot in the playoff (although I didn't check to see if they already clinched today, even with the loss) and maintain a healthy lead for the regular season title.

BG tournament spot was clinched yesterday despite the loss thanks to other outcomes

Does anyone know how the tournament works this year? Looks like it expanded back to 6 teams. I'm guessing it's a form of double elimination

Went to the Friday and Saturday games at Kent. Friday night was a tough loss and then Saturday was awesome, 10-0. Glad I couldn't make the finale, 12-2.

BG lost another series this weekend, getting hammered by WMU in the finale today.
Still in control of the regular season, though, up 3 games on TTUN (with 3 in-hand) and 4 on WMU.
The scUT series at home is going to be a big one to close out the regular season.
First things first...win the series against EMU coming up.

EMU series is huge...need to take at least 2 of 3. EMU, I believe, has lost 8 in a row so their confidence could be very low. Business trip. WMU loses 1 or 2 to NIU this weekend would be a BiG help as well.
tsun is at Notre Dame this weekend and it looks like they only have BG left in MAC play.
