Leads BG softball in nearly every hitting stat and most by a considerable margin. Hitting .358, with OB % of .518 Slugging at .842 and an OPS of 1.356. In addition she has 7 HRs and 25 RBIs. My only question is why is she hitting 7th in the batting order. Is softball lineup strategy different than baseball. In baseball your best power hitter bats 3rd or 4th. There was even an old theorem by Mathematician Earnshaw Cook that said the lineup should put your best hitter first, your second best hitter second, and so on down the lineup. Not sure that ever took wings but the theory was your best hitters would be getting on average more ABs over the season. Just wondering on this particular softball lineup strategy employed by the coach.

A 1.356 OPS is insane....

Re the line up...coach may be reluctant to move her from that spot because she's mashing at a historic rate in that spot

I'd be afraid to mess with her mojo if I moved the batting order. Congrats to her success.

Well I guess you were right to be skeptical. They moved Addie to cleanup for the first 2 games of the CMU series and she went 0 for 7 with 4 Ks. Back to 7th for the finale where she did get a hit in 3 ABs. Weekend dropped her average from 380's to .328. Still sporting a plus 1000 ops at 1.195.
