Falcons are currently 26-12, 7-5 MAC. BG travles to Miami for 3 games this weekend. We play a non conf game vs Wright State and then close with 4 games against the rockettes and 3 against WMU. Miami and WMU are road series and both lead their divisions. BG hosts UT for 3 and I think one game is at 5th/3rd?

BG is currently in 6th...only 1/2 game ahead of Kent and Ohio U.

Now is the time to go on a nice winning streak! 30+ win season is probable but we'll have to win on the road. Exciting stuff going down to the wire. Who needs the Major Leagues?

BG owns the tiebreaker over CMU by virture of a 3 game sweep this season but Ball State owns the tiebreaker over us when they swept us this year. With a nice streak, BG could end up winning the regular season title and hosting the tourney. Lots of baseball to be played and two of the teams ahead of us are still on the sched (Miami and WMU).

Factman,
Does overall MAC winning % dictate who wins the title? I think that's correct.
The loss column means more than the win column?

GO BASEBALL!!!

What the heck are you talking about?? The MLB's totally awesome this year. For once in our lives, the Orioles are in 1st out east, the Indians are doing just fine, and the Nationals are one of the most enjoyable teams to watch this year!

What am I talking about? Pro sports can't begin to compare with the collegiate sports. Too much ego, $$$ and crap to deal with. Hey, that kinda sounds like the BCS and their cronies!

MLB is a joke....*yawn*

I just don't care for Pro sports anymore...

Freak-
You are correct.......it is the winning % that determines the standings. The MAC needs to address their scheduling to make it an "even" schedule. For example, we play Miami, which is the best team in the East this year, but DON'T play EMU in our own division!!!!!! Makes no sense to me. Top two teams in each division make the playoffs, plus the two teams with the next best records. I think we need to go 9-3 in our remaining league games. The one game against Toledo is not a league game, just the three weekend games.
GO FALCONS!!

Thanks for the clarification, FM. 9-3 with all these road games would be quite an accomplishment. GO BASEBALL!!

I'll watch college baseball any day over MLB. Or college football and basketball over the NFL and NBA for that matter. I used to be a huge professional sports fan. I still love my teams, but pro sports just make me sick sometimes. Hearing grown men bitch and moan about getting paid millions of dollars to - PLAY A GAME!!!!!! - is enough to turn anyone off to professional sports! Don't even get me started.

But even in baseball, college baseball is just awesome. But I've got to admit though, being from the Midwest, college baseball is so different down here in the south. The baseball up north just doesn't come close to what it is down here in the south overall. In football and basketball, you can make a case either way, but in baseball, it's not even close. SEC and ACC college baseball is great. The stadiums, the fans, the players....it's awesome! Playing in warm weather as early as March and not having to wait until May doesn't hurt matters either.

Besides 33, there's no better sound than the ping of an aluminium bat and watching the ball sail well clear of the center field fence. :D
