Men's Baseball - Class of 2006

I started a thread in the football forum about high school recruits that will graduate in 2006 in NW Ohio. The baseball program does the best job (IMO) of any of the teams at BG in recruiting locally. Are there any players in the class of 2006 in NW Ohio that you'd like to see BG go after? I mentioned Marc Kraus from Patrick Henry on the football forum as a wide reciever. He'd be great for the baseball program as well. He is a catcher, swings a huge bat, and can play two sports in college. He may even get drafted next year coming out of high school. He'll have a tough choice to make, or maybe not. He can play either football or baseball in college, would BG let him do both?

I like Krauss, maybe as a 1st or 3rd baseman rather than catcher, 2-3 kids on the Archbold team (Good, Johnson, Borchert), Cress from BG and I'm sure a few more will "show up" this summer. That is when the real talent rises to the top, when they are playing with and against stronger competition.
If you want to see alot of talented kids, make sure you make it to The Great Black Swamp Classic held in BG and the surrounding area from June 30-July 3. Not only teams for NW Ohio, but Puerto Rico, Canada, Brooklyn, NY, WVa and Michigan. Normally about 80 college and pro scouts attend the tournament.

Factman - You are correct about the Black Swamp tournament. It has been ranked among some of the best in the nation for summer tournaments. I saw the first couple of years of the tournament, but haven't seen much since. But the baseball was amazing. There was a team from Canada as well, Toronto All-Stars or something like that. The old catcher from the Blue Jays, Pat Borders, had a son play on that team I believe.
