BG Baseball signs one more

Post by duckunder53 »

With the departure of Reimold, BGSU's baseball team had money left for another scholarship player. The player that they signed was Perrysburg HS graduate Brandon McFarland. If I can remember right, he was a first baseman, pitcher, and outfielder. He hits and throws left handed and can hit for power at 6'3" and 240 pounds. He has also been clocked at 85 to 87 mph on the mound. He had verballed to Wright State as a walk-on as BG didn't have the scholarship to sign him, but once a spot opened up McFarland accepted.

Too bad they couldn't have used that money to reward some of the players that have hung in there with little to no scholarship $$ for several years. :(

I think you will find that they did(or will)!!!! Mc Farland is on a "minimal" scholarship, and there was some left over to do just what you suggested.
