Post by UK Peregrine »

From CollegeSports.com: Former Falcon Andy Tracy Called Up
Tracy made his Colorado Rockies debut last night in Denver against San Francisco.

Sept. 8, 2004

Bowling Green, Ohio - Former Bowling Green State University baseball/football player Andy Tracy was called up to the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday, Sept. 7. Tracy has been with the Triple-A affiliate Colorado Springs Sky Sox this season where he set a new team record and led the Pacific Coast League with 120 RBI. He also ripped 33 home runs, 42 doubles and three triples in 126 games for the Sky Sox.

On Tuesday night in Denver, Tracy went 0-for-1 as a pinch hitter as Colorado defeated San Francisco, 8-7. Tracy's last Major League playing time came in the 2001 season when he played in 38 games for the Montreal Expos.
Tracy is going to be a big time star for Colorado. They got a great player and outstanding person.

Im still sad that Montreal traded him. When a BGSU player (one that I have followed since I can remember) gets drafted by my favorite team.... O man, I couldnt believe it. I have about 2,000 things autographed by him.

Im glad he finally got the call in CO. He would have been there sooner with most other teams, but CO. has solid corner players that he has to contend with.

No offense, but it was probably for the best he got traded by Montreal. Who knows what's going to happen with that team? Plus, Andy wasn't quite ready for the MLB yet with the Expos. But, by looking at his stats, he seems to have this minor league thing whipped. I hope he sticks with someone in the pros if not the Rocks. Because your exactly right, he's going to have trouble getting a full-time job at the corners with Colorado. However, Castilla is getting pretty old. Andy has also played a little outfield this year in the minors, so maybe he can get some PT there.
