A night of near misses for the M.A.C. versus the Dookies. My respect for Jim Christian grows each season. What a ball club they have over there.

Definately. What absolutely blew me away, though - and actually made me lose a LOT of respect for Duke - was their fans chanting "over-rated" with 30 secs. or so left to go in the game when they were only beating Kent by 7. Are you kidding me? I mean, lets call a spade a spade - this is Duke we're talking about. You chant "over-rated" if you're Duke only if you're beating someone like UNC. But against Kent? Yeah, they all just got scared sh*tless and didn't know what to do besides be a bunch of conceded jerks.

Way to go Kent. You all represented the MAC very well...and exposed Duke fans for what they really are.

I heard the "over-rated" chant as well but I am not so sure it was the Crazies chanting that- hear me out on this. They scanned the crowd and there were quite a few Flashers in their gold shirts there. When Duke would shoot a free throw you could definitely hear a fairly loud contingent of fans screaming for a miss. Now Cameron is very similar to Anderson in that it just would have taken a handful of boisterous Kent fans up high to scream and be heard when the other 9,000 fans were silent. If you recall that "over-rated" chant came at a point in the game when Kent was only down by 5 or 6 and Duke guy was at the free throw line. At the time I thought, is that the Kent fans chanting that? Because Kent isn't rated, so what would the normally very smart and savy Crazies be chanting that for???

And by the way I am a conspiracy theorist.

The big thing game wise that stood out was the disparity in the free throw shots. Yes Duke has more of an interior game and their style of play will put them at the line a lot, but man that was a big difference that the announcers even mentioned. I know Ray at hoopwise.com has pointed out that in situations like this (MAC on the road) MAC officials often job the MAC teams.

No better than 3rd best team in the ACC.

My theory was spot on:

I guess you guys want to call me classless since i was the one who started that chant. I drove eight hours to see a "Fair" game called and I dont know if you guys saw what I did on the floor but when a team only shoots 30 something free throws to our like 12-15 that is ridiculous they were calling ticky tack fouls on us and nothing on them it was bs, and if those fouls were not called we would easily have one by atleast 6. My overrated chant came when duke fans were yelling at us telling us our team is a bunch of stiffs who dont deserve to play on the same court let alone in Duke...So your calling me classless you are the fans who arent true you can sit at your cpu's all your life and comment I am the true fan the drives 8 hrs to watch MY TEAM PLAY AND STICK UP FOR THEM WHEN DUKE FANS CALL US STIFFS **** THAT...AND IF YOU GUYS DONT LIKE IT THEN THE SAME TO YOU CUZ I AM A FAN THIS IS MY TEAM AND MY SCHOOL
