so...we lost to Duke today

and didn't just lose, but we lost 31-3. But In fairness, Al Groh only had 2 weeks to prepare.

Ouch. That sucks. I really thought Al Groh was a good coach when he was with the NY Jets. Obviously, he's proven that he sucks since taking over VA. How does he still have a job?

What is going on at UVA? Is he not getting the recruits? I know UVA is an excellent academic school, but they have not looked good the past few years.

well we get some decent recruits, then we kick our top QB recruit in his tenure out for underage drinking. (LOL at the Mets, they just completed their choke as I am writing this) the administration at UVA is clueless in regards to football. And we can't really fire Groh right now either because he has a ridiculously large buyout (and we just extended his contract last year, won 9-4, lost our rival for the 4th straight season and suffered a huge choke in the Gator Bowl--up by 14 with the ball with 3:30 left and give up 17 straight to lose. Yes we did win 9 games, and he won COY, but he won COY because of low expectations and was helped by a weak schedule...9 wins but didn't beat anyone impressive). Oh and after the 05 season he named his son as the Offensive Coordinator, and we've finished below 100 in all three seasons on offense, or something like that. We are #120 right now though. If he were to fire his son, I'd relax my hate for a season, but the pride won't do it. Also he has no fans among the UVA faithful for doing things like taking Vic Hall, amazing QB who shattered state records for TD's and all purpose yards and is 5th all time nationally in all purpose yards for a career, and moving him to safety while we struggle with our QB for his entire career.
