I've never been this excited for a MAC game not involving BG. I have my gripes with weeknight games, but setting that aside I think tonight will be a great showcase for our league. I hope for a well played, close game and that the Cardinals and Chips will do us proud.
What I really hope is that ESPN doesn't turn it into a 3 hour informercial for the Big 12 and SEC as they often do with the midweek MAC games. This is certainly a huge conference game, with some possible BCS implications as well. That alone can carry this broadcast without the token BCS standings debate.
GO MAC!
Ball State @ Central Michigan
They also missed an obvious pass interference by the goal line against CMU. CMU also roughed the BSU kicker after the extra point. Ray Bentley is a douche. I know he went to Central, but you are supposed to be unbiased. It seems like that referee works a lot of the MAC games on ESPN.MarkL wrote:Wow - MAC OFFICIALS SUCK!! At the end of CMU's first drive, how did they miss that facemask? That was blatant and could have definitely strained Lefevour's neck in that kind of cold. Incompetent job by the officials on that one.

C'mon dude, it happens everywhere, it's all in good fun. One of my fondest college memories is a packed student section in Anderson chanting f**k Toledo! before the men's game against them in 2003. It's just students being students, no big deal.BGGrad01 wrote:Way to stay classy, Central. The "F&!* Ball State" chants are really cool. Go Cards!
And this game has certainly lived up to the hype through three quarters.
You're right that it happens everywhere, but that doesn't make it the right thing to do. On national TV, it sounds ridiculous.
My criticism of Central's chant combined with the experiences I had in my two trips to Mt. Pleasant don't give me many positive things to say about the Central Michigan football fans. Normally, there are a few bad apples that ruin it for all of the good people. They seemed to have more bad apples than most schools.
