Indiana to play at Ball State New Year's eve....

Post by NY-BG-FAN »

Nice little interstate matchup, and a good opportunity for a MAC to knock off a Big 10 the way Indiana's program has been going. Now let the complaining begin that we can't get Ohio State to play at AA.

Indiana is going to be good next season. Many say that they should compete for a the tourney championship with the players that will be on the roster.

Dammit. Balls Tate gets Indiana. Why the hell can't we get OSU at Anderson. Somebody should be fired for this travesty.

I'm assuming this is basketball of course. If it is than another glaring weakness we have. Boggles the mind how Ball St. gets a B10 school to come there. Unless they agreed to a 3 for 1 deal which is most likely.

We had Michigan at home a few years ago. The rest of the Big Ten doesn't want to come back because AA is too loud and they can't win there. (Jud Heathcoate, I'm looking in your direction!)

I think in any case the National Championship is not even on the radar, for Indiana getting into the tourney would be a big deal as they've missed it the last 2 years. And with Bracey Wright leaving, how good can they really be? He has been the centerpiece of their offense. I know they brought in a killer recruiting class, but I don't know if it will pay dividends immediately.

Ball State has a very nice arena. Something we should look at for our facility. Except drop the ceiling a little. That place is like looking up from the bottom of a very deep hole. Hopefully our new convocation center can take care of that. Wider concources, more rest rooms, better concessions, and more parking makes quite a difference. I remember the game with scUM. After we sent them home ridden hard and put away wet a couple of their fans were complaining about walking from the arena to the lot behind the health center. Some friends and I started laughing at were met with some profanities. The guy beside me spouted off and told these two girls they shold be used to doing the "walk of shame." We walked off laughing as they cussed us up one side and down the other. Silly wolverines, you're not gonna win in the house that roars.

You obviously don't follow IU basketball closely. They have two transfers from Auburn that are seniors a point guard and a big man. Both are very very good. They also have a 7 footer from Austrailia coming in. This will be their year to win it. They will have a lot of senior leadership. Bracey leaving is really not that big of a loss. He isn't a team player. There will be a lot of preseason hype surrounding this team. IU actually coming through and capitalizing is another story. Just making the tournament will not be good enough with this years team. This is part of the reason they have kept Mike Davis. He is a heck of a recruiter that brings in a lot of talented players.
