Get ready to be surprised.....just confirmed that Terrell will NOT sign on signing day - Penn State still in the mix and he wants to go visit Joe Pa.
Yeah, I heard that. I still think he ends up a Buckeye, but who knows. I've heard a couple of OSU fans on the Browns board saying that they heard (great sources, eh?) that he was only visiting PSU because his father wanted him to visit there before committing anywhere. I don't know the kid grew up in PSU's back yard and he's waiting this long to take a visit there? Who knows if they're really in the mix or not.
Honestly, I don't really care where he ends up. As a college football fan I'd love to see him at UM, because it'd be exciting as all hell to see him in that offense. If he ends up at OSU or PSU or whatever though, doesn't really matter to me much either way.
I do know one thing, this is what I think of with him:
Must be nice to have three of the largest schools in the country clamoring for your needs. I doubt the same could be said for a kid who has a 4.5 GPA out of high school. I know this is an athletic site, but sometimes the competition of athletics overshadows about what really matters, and that's a degree and good education. Let's hope that Pryor will work just as hard in the classroom as he does on the field before he gets starry-eyed from NFL scouts.

The top students in any given academic year have the ability to choose any school they so desire as well. Many of them will be offered tons of scholarships for tuition, and many will include room & board. In fact those academic scholarships will far outnumber athletic scholarships offered.
The difference is that it doesn't make the news when a smart kid chooses to go to Harvard.

What else could you possibly think?
The kid called a freaking press conference to announce that he wasn't going to make a decision! The kid realizes that once he signs he'll just be another HS commit, and now he's got the media constantly talking to him to find out his decision. He's eating up the attention and doesn't want it to end.
Pretty much every HS senior knows where they're going to college by this point, except every year there are a number of these top recruits that want to stay in the limelight. Pryor is that kid this year.

First off, he's not asking for 30 people to be calling him everyday trying to find out the latest scoop on where he's leaning, he never asked for the attention that people are giving him. This was set up a few weeks ago that he would be on ESPN on signing day, he never said he was going to make a committment and he wasn't obligated to make one. ESPN wanted to have him on and that's the chance you take if you're ESPN. If you've read anything today about it he had made up his mind, but when he and his dad discussed it last night they had differing opinons on where he should go. Terrelle apparently wanted to commit to Ohio State and his dad insisted that he at least give Penn State and official visit before committing. I don't know how much you've followed Pryor but he's barely had time to do anything since August. His football team played 16 straight weeks, went 16-0 and won a state title, two days later he had his first basketball game and has had games every week since including makeup games. At one point he had to play five games in seven days! So he hasn't really had the time to think much about recruiting and instead of rushing to make a decision he's going to take a little more time to make sure where he wants to go.
So no, I don't think he's eating this up, I think he really wanted it to end today, but he's going to visit PSU for his dad. The kid is very soft spoken and I don't think he particularly enjoys having to answer the same questions everyday, but it's nice there's always people out there that think he's an attention whore because all these media outlets choose to put him up on a pedistal and give him attention he never asked for. I mean we're talking about a 17-18 year old kid and seemingly everybody in the country wants to know where he's going to school, not exactly an easy situation to handle at that age. It continues to amaze me that people who would never dream of being in that situation feel comfortable criticizing these top recruits.

For some reason I just have this feeling that if the kid wasn't considering OSU, that this long response to hammb's post would have never been made

I think you're right.
No matter. I had forgotten that Terrelle Pryor was the only HS senior who played a long state title football season. He's also the only one of those guys to also play basketball. Of course he's too busy to make a commitment...of course he's not too busy for press conferences, but that's a minor detail.
Whatever, I personally don't give a rat's ass, but the kid is an attention whore and to think otherwise is putting Buckeye Blinders on before the kid even becomes a BUCKEYE.

Sort of reminds me of another "me-first" attention whore, Maurice Clarett.
For awhile, I found it amusing that this kid had scores of middle-aged men hanging by his yambag and he kept dropping hints he was going one way or another.
But now, yeah, he's just an attention whore.

Or to think otherwise is to judge a kid's entire personality on one event. Whatever, keep making blind accusations and judging people even though you have no idea what they're going through. Every recruitment is different, of course he isn't the only one that's played both sports, but like I said the kid wanted to make a committment but his father didn't want him too yet. What's he supposed to do cancel the press conference that ESPN, not Pryor, set up? He thought he was going to commit up until Tuesday night, should he have just called everybody and told them to pack up their satellite trucks and go home or should he have not made it a total waste of their time and at least let them know where he stands and let them ask a few questions?
Here's a few things that may enlighten you to the situation:
Video interview with Pryor yesterday morning arriving at school: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08037/855191-49.stm
What's interesting is at the end you can clearly hear him say "this sucks" voicing his frustration at not being able to end this whole thing.

That's funny because I get the same feeling about the reason this thread was even started. We have to get a head start on hating the kid in case he chooses Ohio State you know.
