I agree with tek re: the OSU/OU game. I can't believe I just typed that. They aren't nearly as bad as they were against OU and I think they will play pretty well on Saturday night.
The problem for the Bucks is that I don't think playing well is good enough to get it done. USC is just so talented all over the place and I agree with moneymaker about OSU struggling to score. USC's front 7 is good, so I don't see Beanie Wells getting loose in the secondary very often. I don't see Hartline or Robiskie getting behind the secondary for a bomb. I think that OSU will need to spread 'em out and get big plays from Pryor running and throwing the ball. I think they will need a "lucky" score from a trick play, blocked kick, etc. to give themselves a chance to win.
Defensively, I don't see them containing Sanchez and all of those skill guys for the entire game. Too much speed across the board IMO.
USC 31
OSU 20

The problem that I have with USC is that they haven't proven anything this year. Yes they blew up Virginia but who is Virginia this year? They are the worst football team in the worst BCS confernece who barely squeeked by Richmond. Trust me, Ohio is no richmond.
So what exactly does running up the score on a Virginia team who probably couldn't beat half of 1-aa this year prove? And USC was only winning 24-7 going into the 4th (at least that is what I heard on the radio, I didn't watch the game) before they started bombing all over the field just to run up the score.
I have no doubt USC is as advertised, I just don't thnk the jump to # 1 is justified until they prove it this weekend (if USC happens to win). They still have a lot of inexperience on offense. Virginia wasn't a test.
Should be a good game. I am going to say too close to call at this point lol. I say 3 point win, just not sure who wins.

Why I refuse to give up on OSU (as some on Bucknuts have)
I am not giving up just because Wells is out.
The last time I checked, the Stanford Cardinal doesn't have a "Beanie" Wells.
The last time that I checked, they don't have a Robiske, Hartline, or Ray Small. Though some have been down on them, they still got the Bucks to where they are and they are a hell of a lot better than anything that the Cardinal has.
The last time that I checked, the Cardinal doesn't have the sweater vest.
The last time I checked, the Cardinal doesn't have Lauranitus, Jenkins, Freeman, Washington, Chekwa and all of our other defensive stars.
The last time that I checked, even without all of these things, the Cardinal still beat USC.
Go Bucks! Kick some A$$!

osu's defense is vastly overrated and robert smith agreed with me on college football live today. the only player i see on osu's defense that is a star is jenkins. i really dont think laurrinitis is better than bobby carpenter was and last time i checked bobby carpenter is ridin the bench. osu's defense just looks good because they never play any good offenses and when they do they get lit up.

That is your opinion and who cares about Robert Smith. Isn't he the same guy who quit one year?moneymaker02 wrote:osu's defense is vastly overrated and robert smith agreed with me on college football live today. the only player i see on osu's defense that is a star is jenkins. i really dont think laurrinitis is better than bobby carpenter was and last time i checked bobby carpenter is ridin the bench. osu's defense just looks good because they never play any good offenses and when they do they get lit up.
Carpenter only on the bench because of who he plays for. He would start for 80% of the other teams out there. He may be in a Dolphin Unifor next year and will start.
The one's who you think will be a nobody at the next level are the superstars (see Zach Thomas).
Either way, the point isn't what they are going to do in the NFL. The point is what they are going to do on Saturdays THIS year. The last time I checked, Ohio State doesn't compete in the NFL. Today is one of those Saturdays. Today is a day when a superstar is born. Boom Herron, be that star!
Go Bucks!
