OSU controlled the first half offensively, but only managed 6 points because they weren't able to put it in the endzone. UT had some success throwing the ball in the first half, and the only reason that OSU went into the locker room up at halftime was because of a poor decision by Colt McCoy. OSU DID NOT manhandle UT in the second half. UT was the better team for most of the second half. It was a great comeback by OSU to take the lead. I was impressed with the last two drives. I still can't believe with what little time was left that that OSU took that big a risk defensively. Knowing a TD was the only thing that would beat them, it was a poor decision. It was a great game, but in no way did OSU manhandle UT. The first half was played at OSU's pace, but it's two half game.
Ohio St. punched Texas in the mouth. OSU's offensive and defensive line owned the line of scrimmage. Texas got almost all of their yards from bubble screens and quick passes. Ohio St. pretty much ran at will and Texas could not run the ball, that equates to man handled.
Oklahoma St- Ran over by Oregon
Texas Tech-Ran over by Ole Miss
Texas- Got ran all over, couldn't run the ball at all
Oklahoma- TBA
In other news.....the real winner was Colt McCoy last night. But, not because he beat the Buckeyes.....but because after all is said and done, he gets to go home to this;
I really dont think you were watching the same game as everybody else falcon. the first half was practically even until mccoy threw that pic. and in the second half did ohio state even get a first down until the 4th quarter??? pryor is a long way from being an elite qb but he is still a better option then boekman. also, that defensive play call was retarded for that junction in the game. I understand wanting to be aggressive and not just sit in a "prevent" but you cant blitz all of you front 7 and leave your safeties matched up man to man with recievers in the slot, you're just asking to get beat by a slant and it works pretty much 80% of the time if the wr and qb pick up on that. osu by far did not smack texas in the mouth. ohio state has a good defensive line, nobody is going to be able to run on them in the first half until those big corn fed midwest boys get tired.

Never.
It makes one wonder, no?
Are you talking about the TD? Was he even that open? Looked covered and just shook a tackle.
I didn't see another white shirt around him. It was early on the replays but he was wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide open. Paris Hilton couldn't get more wide open than that guy.

They still missed a tackle though. It could have been just a first down.

If I was still an OSU fan, I would be satisfied with how OSU played last night.
When the bowl schedule was released, numerous sports writers released articles suggesting that OSU shouldn't have been in that game, and very few "experts" picked OSU to stand a chance...let alone win.
For a game that they probably shouldn't have been in, against a team that most expected to wipe the field with them, OSU handled themselves pretty damn well. They exceeded any expectation I had of them to make a game out of last night.
I'm not sure why the OSU fans got their panties in a bind right now. I'm not surprised, but I can't understand it. All this talk of them underperforming last night is a bunch of crap, IMO. Last night was clearly their most impressive showing this season. I don't understand what the OSU fans are whining about.
That game may have been the best bowl game of the season for me. Both teams were evenly matched and the score and overall entertainment value demonstrated that. Someone had to lose and someone had to win and either team could have made the margin of victory wider at several points throughout the game. That game, for me, is what bowl season should be. A great match up that is fun to watch!

137, I don't know if you know this or not, but all of those Big 12 teams you mentioned make those screens and the passing game a big part of their offense. Let's take a closer look at those games. Ok. State lost it's defensive coordinator and obviously was missing something on that side of the ball in the second half. Texas Tech wasn't in a bowl game that they wanted to be in, they wanted the BCS this year. Texas hasn't had a good running game all year, Colt McCoy is their leading rusher and didn't look to run in the first half at all. I'm not trying to take anything away from OSU's performance, but I expected it to be a close game because Texas didn't have a strong running game going in. McCoy's bad decision on their last play of the first half is the only reason OSU went into halftime ahead, I don't think that is manhandling.

Good lord. That last play doesn't fall under any definition of wide open. Dude was right on him and missed the tackle because he made a stupid play on the ball with no angle.
