I just got my SI for this week and it looks like they've got regional covers for various parts of the country.

Here I am, in Big-East country and I don't get the WVa cover or even Notre Dame. I get f*****g tOSU.

What cover did others get in various parts of the country?

goodness gracious you guys will cry about ANYTHING.

Get over it. They are set, everyone in the country is picking them. people who know a lot more about the teams. people who travel the country to evaluate teams say right now OSU may be the best then thats fine, they have reason to believe it.

just because you - uneducated of other schools -fools disagree doesnt mean you should bitch about everything.

damn

The point is, if it's a REGIONAL COVER you would not expect to have OSU on the EAST COAST. It's fine to have them on the midwest cover, that makes sence. No one is doubting the press have dubbed then the pre-season favorite. Thats fact. Have you read anyting on this board. We, most of us, give credit where it is due and when it is due. You give a bad name to college football fans and those of us who root for more than one team on this board. I follow three teams; BGSU, OSU, and Missouri. I would presume you follow at least BGSU and OSU since you are active here. If you only root for OSU maybe you should re-evaluate why you come here as well as what comments you expect to find on a BGSU fan board!

You remind me of a Monty Python skit. Anytime TOAMU is mentioned:
"NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms....."

This is exactly why I stopped rooting for OSU about 5 or 6 years ago. I was in the Army NG down in Columbus, and I got sick of OSU getting crammed down my throat.

Tekekini....every time you come on there with your comments, you prove this point.

Here in Bowling Green, we have our own Division I football team. We have a nationally recognized rivalry with another Division I football team 30 miles to the north. But, does the local Kroger or Meijer put up signs and mascots?.....practically never.

One day I walked into Kroger and found a 10 foot tall Brutus staring me in the face. I walked straight back out, drove to another grocery, and refused to go back until it was gone.

Call me lame if you want, but I want this town to cheer for its own team.

Lord_Byron, I totally agree. It would be one thing if that was the cover everybody was getting, but you were supposed to get a regional cover. You should be upset.

Go Falcons!

Actually he's more like the Python skit about the guy wanting to buy an argument:

"This isn't an argument, it's merely contradictions."
"No, it's not."
"Yes, it is"
"No, it's not."

Uh yeah, that opinion will change by the second weekend of September.

I know we stopped talking about magazine covers after the second post of the thread, but Indy has ND on the cover.

Please continue the other stuff while I put my boots on.

Maybe the first weekend in September. Do not overlook NIU and their powerful ground game. I don't like the Huskies but that team is pretty bad ass and isn't afraid to play anyone. They gave Michigan all they could handle in the '05 opener. I keep telling these OSU chochs at work that Garrett Wolfe *could* have a big day on the ground vs that inexperienced OSU D...of course they keep laughing. Ya know...cuz OSU is the end all be all of college football. NIU's line is pretty much up there with any line in the Big Ten....seriously. They are that good. And with Texas the following week, this could be a case of looksie ahead. Tressel will say the Buck$ will be focused on NIU but we all know how these 18-22 year olds can be.

I still say OSU loses at Texas and Iowa and ESPN said the same thing last night. SOme dude was on their Big Ten preview asking how the Buck$ can be #1 in the country with so many holes to fill. So not everyone is convinced they are the best. I'm not. I think Texas should be #1 as they are the defending champ until someone knocks them off.

GO FALCONS!

You really need to avoid this place. Since you're so "educated" about all of college football and we simple farm folk in NW Ohio don't know sh*t, why bother?

It's attitudes like yours that make is very easy to despise OSU. The thing is I don't hate the actual team, university or coach. It's the arrogant attitude of fans like you that make me puke. Get over yourself, eh?

OSU will lose at least 3 games this year.

Lame? Absolutely not. For Kroger to do that right in the freaking middle of BG is pathetic. Cheers to you for patronizing another store. I, too, am sick and tired of having OSU crammed down my throat at every turn. The Akron Leaking Urinal covers what Tressel had for breakfast 3 days ago like it's breaking news but can't seem to write articles about the Akron Zips or Kent State Golden Flashes on a regular basis....ya know, teams in the area?
Then they turn around and rip both for their attendance and that pisses me off. :x How about a little more coverage of the local teams, not one 2 hours away?

The media in this state chooses, wait, refuses to acknowledge the other SEVEN Division 1-A teams in the state. That's why I read the Blade every day online to get my BG news as well as the official site. Say what you will about the Blade. At least they cover BG pretty well and Maureen has been doing an excellent job with her writing.

three games? no. 1 game maybe. that one game may be texas. The benefit of dropping your first game is that you do not drop far in the polls especially when it is to #2 or #3 whatever texas was ranked by AP. lose the 2nd game of the year the odds are they will be right back in the top 2 by Michigan week.

and then you will eat a bug.

That comment is actually worse than anything tekekini has ever posted. What to show our Falcon class... Can we have someone take that crap down ASAP????? We talk about OSU fans who are jerks and we judge their whole fan base by these few. Well, I hope we aren't judged by other schools based on your comment.
Its all good, no apology needed. He showed his maturity and classlessness. You think BG fans are so great. I was there to witness how you treated NIU fans when Gameday was in town. that was far worse than anything i have seen at OSU, Madison, or WVU.

But hey, it was BG and they are a MAC school and so their fans are angels.

Tekekini,

My butt gets tired when I sit here and read your posts. Don't you have anything better to do with your life? Honestly.

Why do you come into a message board created for a team you don't like, in a league you don't like, and make hundreds of posts? I'm sure you find people from other schools on the OSU message board, but I don't know for sure because I have better things to do with my life! If you do find them, why don't you antagonize them, instead of becoming them. If you honestly can't handle your team being criticized, then stay on the OSU BBS. You should expect that this message board will have at least a few people that don't think OSU is the greatest thing on the planet.

I highly suggests getting a girlfriend, or a boyfriend (no comment about orientation intended, I honestly don't know your gender), or a dog, or whatever brings you happiness. Your contributions to this BBS must account for a decent hunk of your time. Thing is, if you spend that much time in here, I can only imagine how much time you spend on other BBS's as well. Staring at a computer screen all day is bad for your eyes. Seriously, get a life. I'm speaking on behalf of your well being here. There are better things to experience in life than antagonizing a group of people who don't like you, primarily because of you (and your kind's) tendancy to antagonize.

Go Michigan.....and take Ohio State with you.
