Fantasy Football Dilemma

My fantasy team has Jacksonville's defense and Arizona's defense.

Jacksonville starts the season agains Dallas, and Arizona starts the season against Frisco.

What to do...what to do.

I think the Bills defense may be a sleeper this year b/c of their drop off last year, especially with Takeo Spikes healthy again, and the addition of Donte Whitner in the secondary. Just an opinion. Perhaps the Bills are still available in your league.

Well, I think I will be good with Jacksonville as my starting defense. I picked Arizona to fill in during their bye week. However, I'm thinking that Frisco's offense might be bad enough to warrant stacking them against Arizona's defense instead of playing Jacksonville that week.

This is my dilemma.

Last year the defense I drafted faltered, but I don't remember who it was. For the last 5 or 6 weeks of the season I just went out and signed whoever SF was playing that week, and it worked well for me. I lost in the championship game, but I made it further than I should've :)

(plus my late round flier on Larry Johnson paid off bigtime...I KNEW Holmes would get hurt! :))

Flip a coin. That works.

I agree with whomever plays SF is usually good. I see neither of your defenses are worth a whole lot. Plus why even have 2 defenses? Just pick up a D on a week-to-week basis.

I think a second good D if you can get it is usually better than a 5th WR or RB you could draft in the same spot. I always love to have two top-10 defenses and play matchups week to week.

Well, I don't want to get into a big argument about this. However, I do think Jacksonville's defense is pretty dang good. Yeah, their stats didn't compare to Chicago's last year, but what defense did?...I think you can argue that Jacksonville saw better offenses, but that is quasi-a matter of opinion. Besides, Arizona's defense did rank in the top 10, if you can believe it. I only picked them up to satisfy the bye week need. I'm satisfied with my defensive choices. Sure, it would have been nice to pick up Chicago, but I would have lost a skill position player to do so.

I don't want to plan on trading out a lot during the season. My schedule for this fall is pretty tight, and I need to limit the amount of time I spend on fantasy football.

The big question is: Will Frisco's offense improve this year? Preseason reviews are mixed so far. Alex Smith looks much improved, and Antonio Bryant will help. They have a new offensive coordinator (don't ask me why Green Bay hired the old one), and it might be exactly what they needed.

I apologize, because this is a vague topic. It will all be speculation until we see what happens on the field. I was just curious to see what some other football fans had to say on the matter.
