And BG giving them their first win of the year is still a strong likelihood.

I would actually prefer them winning at least one game before meeting them.

Naw, I'd rather they be winless. That way we can all encourage Brandon to give the classic "kick a wounded, ugly, phallic dog while its down" speech to the team. :-D

I agree with both statements.

I can see both sides of this. UT may be down but if they come into the BG game at 2-9? It could be very dangerous. You know Toledo Tom would like nothing more than to beat BG after his season ended a month before...except maybe the buffet table at Golden Corral. I couldn't resist.

I prefer to think only of Temple right now....one at a time. The season is going way too quickly as it is! LOL

I'm not so sure Brandon knows how to give any kind of motivational speech at halftime. I've seen us at Toledo...and in other games. We better get a huge lead early.

Leading at the half didn't help the last two games at UT, so I think we ought to dig ourselves a two or three TD hole this time around.

If I'm not mistaken, weren't we losing to EMU at the half?

Lets look at this another way as well. The Falcons were dead lucky to escape with a win against UB. If BG had been playing a team that could have less luck than the Bulls, there are about ten different times that game could, and typically would have been lost. The EMU game is only slightly removed from being as bad as the UB game. In a couple of games, UT has come out on the unlucky side of things. It is that flip-of-the-coin difference that stands between our record and theirs.

Then you have the OU game which looks more like a fluke than anything else, that game where we pray on the hunter, as much as anything else. So far, everybody in the MAC, save Kent, has such a loss to a lesser team.

It is the BG-UT game. Anything can happen. And as bad as one or both teams can be, things seem to wash-out in the end. This could well be the kind of year where luck goes against UT and we get a road win for the series. Lord knows Brandon does not need to ride a few more losses and a dive in the UT game, into the off-season.

Frankly I don't dread the annual BG-UT game as much as having to deal with that damned "We are Marshall" movie.

Gag.
