You said it -- tomorrow's going to be an interesting day. As a UM fan, looking at their respective resumes, I can't decide between UM and Florida. From the eye test, Michigan simply looks like a much better team. However, Florida had the tougher schedule overall I think. Tough call for the voters.

I think the computers will still give Michigan I slight edge, and when you combine that with the big lead they had on Florida in the Harris poll, I think Michigan will edge them out for number 2.

It will be interesting to see how many voters put Florida #2 to avoid a rematch, even if they think Michigan is a better team. But right now, I think it's a tight "2 and 2A" type deal.

Also, any ballots that don't start with:

1 OSU
2 UM/Florida
3 Florida/UM

...should be tossed.

I believe Florida will vault to #2 over UM, on momentum from winning this recently.

Urban has another one of his two year miracles.

Another reason to hate the BCS system.

Logic tells me that Florida should get a chance. If they don't and UM would beat OSU, then your sitting here with three one-loss teams, two having beat each other and the third not given a shot to play either. What would that prove?

It would prove who the better team is on January 8th on a neutral field. I wouldn't want a rematch if I were an unbiased fan, but if you're going to have a system, you have to play by it's rules. You can't disregard the system you put in place because you don't like how it works sometimes.

In a vaccuum, the ballots turned in by the voters should have absolutely nothing to do with any game they want to set up. They should just rank the schools they think are the best. If they think Michigan is the second best team in the country, they should put them #2, and the same with Florida. This whole business of ranking teams based on how you want the national championship game to set up is bull. Any coach or voter in the harris poll that says otherwise should be stripped of their voting priveleg for life.

FWIW, an ESPN poll with almost 150k voters has 54% putting UM in Glendale. So the notion I keep hearing of nobody outside of Michigan wants a rematch seems kind of bunk.

And yeah... Mrs. Meyer's husband did a phoner with SportsCenter and called the SEC Champ. game "probably one of the best games in college football this year"...

If I got a vote my ballot would say

1. OSU
2. Boise
3. UM/Florida

before there's an outcry that Boise's in the WAC and doesn't deserve it I would say it's OSU/UM/FLorida/USC's fault that they didn't play them. Sure they would've been happy to set up a home and home with any of them and for financial reasons those others said no. their bad, not non-bcs teams fault.

I would say probably one of the most entertaining, but not best. Whatever floats your boat, and for Urbie it is probably a very large yacht.

Watching that game I am still deeply in love with Urban Meyer.

I want UF to play OSU because I think those are the 2 best coaches in college football. It would make for an awesome coaching matchup.

I think OSU would wax Florida. I'm talking Fiesta Bowl last year. They'll pick Leak off about 4 times.

Not that it matters, (or maybe it does if you want to put the "best" two teams in Glendale), but vegas says Michigan is a 6.5 favorite over florida on a neutral field.

Which is why I almost said included Boise St. in the mix. And I'm sure Boise State would have LOVED to schedule a home and home with any of the three... you know, as long as the first game is in Boise and the return trip gets forgotten because of a great chance to play Utah. (With some bitching from OU somewhere in the mix. )

People chuckle when there is the talk of including Boise State in National Championship matters and they'll hear people out just to humor them and use BSU as another reason the BCS is faulty.

But

Brigham Young as a member of the WAC won a National Championship playing in that conference, playing a weak non conference schedule and winning the Holiday Bowl.

I still have a bit of a chip that a team like Brigham Young gets a national championship nod but our "mid major" teams from the MAC and such (included Boise State here) would never get a chance to even compete for such a title.
