Not sure what this has to do with BG football........but I live in Columbus also and actually enjoy living here except for when I read comments like those of Mr. or Mrs. Smith. I am amazed at (1) the number of people in this town who think a bunch of 18-22 year old kids owe them something (a national championship) and (2) the number of people in this town that think you should be reassigned to Ann Arbor for simply not being a Buckeye fan.

It will forever amaze me how some people in Columbus and many throughout Ohio feel like the Buckeye football team let them down on January 8th. Instead of the attitude in Columbus being "let's try to think about how disappointed the players are", it has been "let's think about how disappointed the fans are". Sad.

I like the guy that said "Don’t you believe you have an obligation to the citizens of Columbus to support Ohio State?"

This is such a huge misconception about newspapers. Although the Dispatch is sometimes guilty of being a PR machine for osu it is NOT obligated to be one. Newspapers are not supposed to be a school's public relations department.

Since I've lived down here, I've been amazed at how utterly brain washed the people are. I'm not an anti-OSU type, but it gets deeply annoying on a personal level, when people just fawn all over the place, and wonder why you don't. And worse, when they are annoyed you don't.

i dont get the vitrolic hate of the buckeyes from you guys...honestly...why do they bug you so much? because ohioans don't pick bg over ohio? because ohio beats us? (not that im saying i like those things) i dont get it. do you spell it o$u because they have more money to spend on their program? how do you think they got it...some smokey backroom somewhere once there was a deal where everyone sat around planned wars covered up the aliens and decided that ohio state would earn more money then other ohio schools? or is it because they win consistantly in a top flight conference and earn that money with the fans and the $ rewards that has brought them? do they have more money or do things differently then any other school of the same size? no. "oh the ncaa always investigate them ha ha" well they do that to alot of big programs. nobody adds onto the end of that "and didnt find anything again" is it because espn talks about em and your jealous? well start winning.

tell ya what...lets imagine something... bg is good for a few years in a row, they get more fans...more fans bring in more money...we get better recruits because we've been good-we get better. this continues until all of the sudden we're a powerhouse under investigation and people spell our name bg$u because they're jealous their school doesnt have our funds. then what?

and dont give me that "its the fans" stuff...ohio has as many idiot fans as any other big program...more when they win alot. so what? laugh at them. or is it that everyone else seems to be an ohio state fan and not so much their demeanor... well i know it sucks...i wear my bg jersey on opening day when everyone else at the party has osu stuff on but the fact is most people inherited their fanship from parents who once chose osu, like new fans choose them because they're GOOD. i scratch my head at who's the bigger jerk fan when i hear people say how happy they were that ohio lost because they can now laugh at their disapointment "stupid osu fans look how sad they are" yea..and im sure you skipped to work after toledo made us look bad.

im a bg fan, and an osu fan. i dont have a problem with that. i dont think osu has a mandate from god to be the best team ever...but im a fan. and i frankly laugh when i see people have such hate towards osu. i dont care if your not a fan, or even if your a fan of a rival team...nobody says anyone has to be a fan of anybody... but i must say im puzzled by how much hate some ppl have. the teams i dislike the most (notre dame and in nfl the steelers) i dont have that much HATE for... i root against them they win i say "oh well, just outcoached/outplayed us" and i dont dance on their grave when they go down.

This subject has been covered ad nauseam. I consider OSU a rival like I consider Toledo, Michigan, and other schools a rival. If this really makes you that upset to read, please don't.

the buckeyes not the bobcats. sorry, i figured if i threw an ohio instead of an ohio state in there in the middle ppl would see im not switching tracks completely.

it doesnt really upset me i just dont get it. considering osu as a rival is understandable, but some people (and not just here) seem to want to firebomb the school they hate them so much. i dunno. just puzzling.

oh and sorry about spelling and such, it was 3 something am after studying all night and right before bed. meh, u get the idea. i didnt intend for it to be published.

I hate ohio state...didn't want to start another thread about them though, but I went 5-1 tonight on basketball games (UVA even covered on the road as afavorite). What was the one game I lost? ohio state -10.5 @ northwestern. Ruined my 5 game parlay.
