Interesting that many OSU fans are too arrogant to see themselves as the caricature they are.

The guy who finishes Albert off at the end was a little too into it. But the guy who just casually walked up and kicked Albert in the groin, that was funny. That's about as far as it needed to be taken.

I laughed out loud at that one. The people who just walked up and sulked in front of the statue were absolutely the best. The other ones sort of scared me.

I do not know if you know this, but smashing the gator was what was supposed to happen. Thats how I take it anyways. Why else would they keep a video camera on it, not call the cops or arrest anyone or stop them. Instead they sat back and taped them, didnt warn them, nor call the cops on them. nothing happened except that they got a funny video.

It was set up to happen. That is what it looked like to me.

So at OSU it's ok to destroy another's property, then.

I'm not above admitting that the whole thing was probably set up so the people at the losing school would destroy the mascot of the winning school. It's fairly obvious to me that they were going for this sort of thing. As was said, there were cameras set up and nobody was charged. It's not difficult to make the conclusion here.

What bothers me is the way the people went about it, the way that guy at the end looked absolutely out of his mind doing it. It's enough to scare a person.

Whatever the case, I'm pretty sure I'd try to steer clear of a UT mascot statue on our campus, merely because I wouldn't want to be captured on film anywhere near something that looks that much like a... well... you know.

no way! ohio state fans are the scum of the earth, they'd kill their mother if she rooted against the bucks... meanwhile us civilized fans would adorn a toledo rocket with garlands and burn incence to honor it like good little boys and girls.

god u guys really grasp at anything to bash osu...this sour grapes attitude is almost as bad as ohio state's worst fan's behavior...we just dont have the legions of fans to make us look bad when a fraction of em are idiots.

Or you could have ignored this thread all together if it irritated your delicate sensitivities so much.

I was making an observation. Take it for what it's worth. I doubt highly you would see BG student trash a Bronco because the football team lost to Boise. Notice how I didn't say Rocket? Because - like OSU/FL - Boise isn't a R-I-V-A-L (which is holding your strawman together.) I'm also sure you would see a foam mascot last longer than lunchtime in BG.

Grip: get one.

Also the thing is, it had nothing to do with the game, it had to do with some contest Nike had and the losing school had to put the winning schools mascot on campus.

No, but I am saying that it is pretty obvious the way the whole thing was set up and the way the video was edited that this is what they wanted to happen. I am am almost willing to bet these people were told to beat the hell out of it. It was obvioulsy very poorly made with the intent of it being busted so easily. the first guys barely pushed it and it fell over.

no one made an attempt to stop it, nobody in their right mind would go out of their way, in daylight, in public and vandalize property like that if it was not set up.

I think there is some overexaggerating going on here with your reactions. this was not students seriously vandalizing ones property, it was something they were more than likely told they could do and they went with it and had fun.

what is the big deal? you would have done itif it was UT mascot on BG campus, Florida would have done it if it was Brutus on their campus, it was 100% planned. give me a break folks. 8)
