I agree that they will be dropped early in the tourney. I come away less impressed by Oden every time I see him. He looked uncoordinated, slow, and extremely weak with the ball yesterday. He needs another year or two in college if he wants to be dominant at the next level. Cook better hang around for another couple years as well. No way is he ready for the NBA.
For OSU to be successful in the tournament, they need Harris and Butler to throw in every jump shot that they look at. I don't see that happening. I am not expecting them to be a first weekend loser, but I don't expect a final four run out of them either.

You're not wrong about the Buckeyes, but Oden's a top 5 NBA center right now. While most GMs concede that Durant will be the better player, almost all of them would make Oden the number 1 pick right now, just like he would've been last year. The guy's a stud with his off hand, and the best defensive college player since Ewing. His offensive game is still developing, but once he gets full use of his right hand, scouts are almost positive he can be an effective post scorer at the next level.
If you were building the perfect NBA center, you'd come up with something pretty close to Greg Oden.

yeah he still does have much to learn on the offensive front..and I think when his injury fully heels that might help (turnovers and such)..but definitely think he could benefit from staying another year at OSU

My Uncle Joe, who did a lot with the OSU football and basketball programs in the 70's and 80's, and who incidentally got me some of the best seats in the house for some of their home games from time to time, be it football, hockey, or basketball, would be immensely proud right now. Good on you, Uncle Joe!

Yeah, only that LEwis kid who singlehandedly won the Wisky game for them with a HUGE block looks really NBA ready at this point.

I'm not going to deny that Oden could use more polish in college...it takes time to learn the post game. Still, I think he's in the upper half of the league immediately if he left right now. There is just so little true talent at the position anymore that even an undeveloped prospect can be a star.
I see Durant as more of a wing, T-Mac type player than an inside guy in the pros.

Oden needs a passport he travels so much.
The kid is going to be good... but if he leaves now for the NBA he won't reach his full potential. He is lacking in the following areas:
1) He can't play Man to Man defense.
2) His defensive awareness leaves him out of position and underneath the backboard to often.
3) He has less offensive moves than Shawn Bradley.
4) He is lumbering right now... and is that because he has bad knees or he is out of shape? I know he had a bum wrist but that shouldn't stop you from running and be conditioned by this point in the season.
5) Free throw shooting and taking harding fouls. The guy is going to get hacked and he doesn't like it, but hasn't figured out that this is part of the game. Oden is tough, but he has to get tougher. NBA players foul much harder than college kids, especially when the other players are his own size.

No one cares what you think either, yet you keep giving your opinion anyway. Its almost as if you have Gay-dar for OSU.
