Tommy Amaker is available. Just let go by scUM. Has the Duke credentials. Perhaps BG should go after him for the coaching gig.
If OU can get Solich, BG should at least try to court Amaker.

Is he a recruiter? It looked like it was hard for him to get the talent to come to Michigan, a place known for its basketball. How much harder would it be for him to recruit kids here?
In six years his team didn't make the NCAA tournament and went to the NIT three times. I think one of those six years his team was on probation (not his fault). BG beat an Amaker coached Michigan team. He also beat us the next year I think it was.
I'm not really sure he's the guy that would help us and I'm certain he will be looking for a place that pays their coaches more than we can offer.

WRONG WRONG WRONG
Amaker is not a head coach. Look at his overall record at Seton Hall (68-55) and then his record at UM (109-83). Not very impressive at either place. He may have the Duke pedigree, but Coach K did not rub off on him.
I'd rather we go out and get an up-and-comer than someone that's just been let go.
Besides, didn't Amaker say his UM team would never play at BGSU again? If he's not going to respect us when he comes down to play us, why should we look at his sorry butt when he gets canned for not being able to get the job done?
BTW - Solich was a different case. Solich was a winner at Nebraska.

I agree. We want to get someone on the way up, not on the way down.

Amaker is a bad coach, and he would be too expensive for us anyway.
I don't see us signing a high-profile guy.
