AP Poll will now rank all D-1 schools

Post by GMBG2006 »

Well it seems kinda pointless to me since other then the beginning of the season the formally D-1AA schools wont face many quality opponets but it would have been nice to see App. St get a few votes this week. Here is the article from ESPN.com about the change: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3008022

And of course they had to throw in alittle something against the MAC as well, "Having spent so much time watching those Georgia Southern teams, I'm sure the top teams in the Southern Conference are as good as any mid majors," Van Brimmer said. "They're probably as good as anybody in the MAC (Mid-American Conference). They're probably better than most in the Sun Belt."

There was a time when the Associated Press poll wasn't concerned about divisions at all.

In 1955, the final AP poll had Miami in the Top 20, even though Miami (and the rest of the MAC) was still at the small college (Division II) level.
