How come this wasn't bigger news?

Utah a few weeks ago lambasts #11 UCLA 44-6! Then they go on to lose to UNLV 27-0 equally as shocking. I had thought what I saw on the scoreboard ticker that week was wrong but not so. I don't remember anyone on Sports Center or anything making any remarks about this huge upset.

For one, SportsCenter isn't going to waste people's time talking about two garbage mid-major teams like Utah and UNLV because nobody cares. And two, because it wasn't that big of an upset. Utah is 1-3 and UNLV's 2-2. It's kind of like how nobody's going to care if Syracuse gets beat by a terrible Miami(OH) team next week after upsetting Louisville. Pulling one upset doesn't make you a good team, good teams play more than one good game a year.

Sorry , you didn't get my drift. I meant why didn't the Utah over #11 UCLA upset get any coverage. Yeah, UNLV over Utah is nothing, but beating a highly ranked Pac-10 opponent is, especially with the Pac-10 on the rise.

My fault. I don't know why. I think it was probably just overshadowed by the other great games and storylines that happened last week.

May have had something to do with the start time, I thought that game started at like 9 or 10pm Eastern time

This may be it. And, for what it's worth, I was watching a lot of football that Saturday night, and the halftime shows did make a point to mention that score and ooh and aah about it. They didn't have video for some reason -- maybe because it was on a non-Disney network.

It wasn't a late game. It started at around 4:30 or 5 eastern time.
