Grand Valley beats MSU in exhibition hoops

Sure it's just an exhibition game, but nonetheless it's a nice line on the resume for DII GVSU. Whenever you knock off the #8 team in DI hoops, the rest of the hoops world will take notice.

The more I see of Grand Valley, it makes me think they could easy move up to the DI level if they ever desired. We now have an enrollment well above 23,000 students. Winning 4 of the last 5 DII football titles shows GVSU is dominant at this level in football. This dominance also occurs in other men's and women's sports across the campus. Not only is Grand Valley good across the board, but GVSU is also building a new indoor practice facility/fieldhouse. With a little expansion of Lubber's Stadium, GVSU could be in an ideal position to move up. If the MAC does end up looking for the 14th member down the road, they may need to look no further than to GVSU as a viable candidate.

I thought D-II and D-III schools could count these games in their records (if they wanted to). I would sure want that victory on my record this year if I was GVSU/

It would probably beat having Eastern Michigan in the MAC.

Saw the highlights for that game. It looked like a heck of a game to watch. Great for GVSU, something they will always remember.

Except that EMU is a MUCH easier drive back to NWO after a day of tailgating... :-D

So you only drop by to talk about GVSU now. Its not like it was bad enough that you skipped out on a trip to BG to watch GVSU.

BTW, have you sent that on to our (your former) Boss yet. He is a MSU grad. :P

My brother at University of Findlay would love it if GVSU moved to D I. He'd have one less school beating up on him at swim meets. From the little I've seen out of GV, they look to be fairly impressive.
