So the overated Buckeyes who got beat by an unranked team can back into the big game.

So we can watch Pat White and Steve Slaton tear the Buckeyes a new one. They would make Florida's score last year look paltry to what they could put up.

Who HASNT lost to an unranked team??
it has happened twelve times this year...
How exactly are they back dooring it? Nobody is using the front door. Everyone has one loss. At this point everyone is backdooring it if we were to use your logic.
LSU has two losses to two teams who are now unranked..West Virginia has a loss to a team who is now unranked...USC..The list goes on and on.and on... Atleast OSU's loss was to a team who will end up in the top 10!! I havent checked the rankings but after the losses this week they may already be there! Illinois is certainly a top 10 team next year.
Isnt the BS that we call BCS wonderful?
haha!
You can say what you want..games are decided on the field and not in your one sided brain.
I never said that I garunteed OSU would win the game...I just want to the frickin opportunity. You gotta be in the game to win it or lose it. Just win football games and watch everyone else lose. It is not OSU's fault everyone else sucks and has lost two or more times. Being in it two years in a row is special.
The # 2 team that no one thinks should be in the game has won it most of the time. Look at Florida last year and The Bucks in '02. lookat what happened to Oklahoma a few years ago when they got blown up.
Its funny how the same thing happened to all of those schools but no one cared when they got second chances.
I almost dont even care if OSU gets there or not. The best thing about it is that the F'n SEC WON'T be playing in the NC game!!
haha!

We'll see...Thats what everyone told OSU last year for 50 days. They were told how they were going to tear the gators a new one, the Gators didn't belong, that they "campaigned" their way into the title game.
The tides have turned!
Go Sooners!

Except for the fact that West Virginia can be compared to both Florida last year, and Illinois because of the way they play. If I were you I would be cheering for Pittsburgh more then Oklahoma

na I dont care who we play, like I said, I just want the opportunity. I am just happy because the SEC is not in it and if OSU gets in, then it pisses Mark May off to no end. Oh, and it pisses most of you off as well.
I would think by now, OSU would realize they have to man up and put a spy or two on the QB facing that type of an offense. They can cover the WVU receivers by playing man. Gotta use the spies. The D coordinator should be fired if can not figure that out by now.
They never did it against Florida or Illinois, they gotta know to do it by now.
If not, then oh well, at least we will have been there!

I am there with you Major, but think of it in this way: Its not UM losing, its Gary Pinkel losing. And isn't the misery of a former UT coach worth just a little tiny something?

Youch, BG fans. Former Rocket coaches in two of the last three title games? The only fans more upset would be Miami, since Toledo will then receive the title "Cradle of Coaches".

And my guess is the contract extension and bonuses he'll receive for having the year he's had will take the edge off of his "misery". Really fun thing would be for Pinkel to win the Championship. The last three winning coaches would then have come from NWO MAC schools.

Help me with this one, H2O. What's the Mack Brown connection, or am I missing something?

I believe he is referring to Nick Saban when he was at LSU.

Who HASNT lost to an unranked team??
Well....Kansas
I know they didn't play Kent State, Youngstown State, or for that matter Purdue (who lost to Indiana), but the fact remains they lost a close one to the now number 1 team in the country!

If this year doesn't scream "We need a playoff" I don't know what does. Also, I think it's about damn time the Big 10 says "Hey, guess what. We're the Big 10 and we're having a championship game." Or, what would be really nice, would be to have Notre Dame grow a set and join up so the Big 10 can have a legitimate championship game. As for the Buckeyes backing in, it's not really their fault. Before the beginning of every season, in the conferences with 12 or more teams, a represetative from each school meets with the other reps and they vote as to whether or not they will have a conference championship game. Mizzou and WVU could be done right now and the National Championship game could be set. Do I think OSU deserves a chance at the National Championship game? Yes. They led the nation in scoring defense and many other categories, but I think it would be better if there were a playoff but we all know that is unlikely to happen any time soon. If OSU makes it into the NCG, then go Bucks, otherwise, I hope they destroy the Pac10 Champ in the Rose Bowl.

I'm with Hammb on saving the playoff/no-playoff talk until the off-season. It's more fun then.
I don't believe a conference can have a championship game unless there are 12 teams, so the Big Televen needs to add someone to make it happen.
Wart, thanks for the clarification on Texas.
