Here is an article from the Indianapolis Star. There are quite a few comments. IU fans are pretty delusional in who they think they can get.

Another Dakich thread
Boy, reading through the comments not much love for Dan.
Understandable, I suppose, but I thought there would be a contingent that wanted him for his IU ties.
I think Dan would do alright there, but they can definitely do better. It's still a good program. Maybe not as elite as those fans think, but they can likely do better than Dan for that job.

Northwestern shoulda had 'em. That freshman at the end tried to do too much.
Dakich now 1-0 as IU's coach. Think he'll retire tomorrow?*
(*-Just kidding. It's obviously much more lucrative for him to commit some recruiting violations, then cash in for $750K.)

"I don't believe I can name a coach, anywhere, anytime, anyhow, who did it better than Doyt Perry."

The honeymoon is over for IU fans and Dakich. After barely getting by Northwestern and osu, getting thumped by MSU and today's loss to Penn State, IU fans on their message board (www.peegs.com) aren't exactly pleading for him to retain the head coaching job.
They are stating no in game adjustments and a horrible offense. I'm certain they're still running Sampson's offense but these were a few of the same complaints people had here as well.

Needless to say, I'm not really surprised at all of this and what has happened to IU lately. After seeing that they lost to MSU badly and now to PSU , reminds me a lot of what has happened here too many times. I will say it now, I don't believe DD will ever be offered a head coaching job a a major Div.1 university. Success through the Bobby Knight Way are dead and have been for a long time. If DD doesn't realize this now , he never will.
