I don't for a second believe that Weis was not cheating

So I assume that everybody has heard about the illegal laptop used by the ND staff in the ND/MSU game this past weekend. Linky linky:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3600020

Quick summary, some grad student was using a laptop in the coach's box which is of course illegal, Weis claims it was not used for anything illegal, nobody believes it because Weis studied under Billicheck, Billicheck recorded QB signals, ...
The last thing I ever want to do is lie. - Charlie Weis
My response to that, see 2006 ND/MSU. Linky linky:

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/ ... otes_x.htm

Essentially, ND player was going to be flagged for late hit out of bounds. Weis lied to the officials and said an MSU player slapped him. Video evidence confirms Weis is a big fat liar.

I have absolutely no respect for Charlie Weis after he lied to an official to try to win the game in 2006. Any thoughts on the laptop situation or Weis as a coach/human being?

Eh, ND still sucks and isn't a major player these days...they aren't even a minor player. I don't care one way or the other.

They keep writing bigger checks to buy out bigger contracts and hire more expensive future buy-outs.

Now I'm not saying I don't care about the first post, as I did express my opinion of it, saying if Weis did this anywhere else it wouldn't get as much play. To me people only hate Weis because he is at ND, and the only reason I think this is getting as much play as it is is because it involves ND. Freak is right in saying ND isn't a major player any more, just wish the media knew that, thats why I put that at the beginning of my post, I can care less cause ND is a non factor, still lost the game, and still isnt a good team

the only reason people pay attention to ND is because of Charlies record breaking FUPA. He still hasnt proved anything as a head coach at all. He went to 2 bcs games with tyrones players and got smashed in both. Bottom line is I dont think ND will ever be a major player again simply because they are ND. THey're in the middle of nowhere in indiana, its too hard to get in there, and the girls are almost non existant. I just think that todays athletes could careless about ND's past history. What do they have over their southern schools or the schools in cali?? Its a uphill battle to climb to get those kids out of the south and west for ND.

I'll save you a third attempt to explain. Grant, as well as others here, grind our, errr, their teeth at the phrase "could care less". If you could care lessthen you obviously care more about this issue than others. Usually people mean they couldn't care less. Just one of those funny little grammar things.... Nice explanation though. :-D

Didn't Notre Dame lose the game? Aren't they still ridiculously bad?

If the answer to those questions is Yes (which it is) then why do we care?

He is as bad at cheating as he is at coaching.

So what?

I just care because I have respect for ND but I hate Charlie Weis. There is not another coach in NCAA football, maybe in all sports, who I respect less than Weis because he is a liar and a cheater, which means he teaches his players those values. I wish ND to go 5-7 or worse each season until they find a new coach who is a moral man and gives ND the respect that the program Rockne and Holtz built deserves. And if ND only wins 4 or 5 games this year which is definitely possible given the rest of their schedule (Purdue, Stanford, at North Carolina, at Washington, Pittsburgh, at Boston College, at Navy, Syracuse, at USC), a new coach may come sooner rather than later.

I have to say, this is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time!

I don't think he was cheating. It just takes a long time to order one of everything off the Jimmy John's menu for Weis' post game meal...
