It looks like it is going to come down to Boise State v Ohio State for the final BCS game. Who should it be...and in your replies...who will it be?

Boise State- I see them going to the BCS Championship game in the shoulda category. But they'll outdo OSU. If OSU hadn't lsot to PSU in Columbus, no. On the other hand follow the money and the money says OSU.

Who should go? Boise.
Who will go? Bucks. It sucks that Boise, who can clearly hang with the big boys, won't go to the BCS at 12-0.

Agree 100%. Even as someone who follows OSU football, I think Boise deserves to go ahead of the Buckeyes and as a fan of college football, I think Boise should go. However, if I am running Fox and the Sugar or Fiesta Bowls, I am taking OSU without thinking twice. OSU will draw larger TV ratings and they will bring 20-30K fans who will eat and drink a lot and take up a lot of hotel rooms. Not saying it is right but it is what will happen.

boise brought a TON of people to the sugar bowl all the way in new orleans that year.

I suppose Tek must've voted because Ohio State has 1 vote.

Ohio State shouldn't be allowed in a BCS game until they kick that pesky losing streak to South Carolina in the Outback Bowl.

I don't care if OSU got crushed by USC.

When OSU loses they lose to # 1 and # 3. OSU never loses to unranked teams. You can't deny the facts. So it is a bullshit argument that you all make. OSU also defeate three top 25 teams this year, played 5 total. How many did Boise play/beat? 1/1! Fact! You can't say the same thing about anyone else. Florida loses to unranked teams, USC loses to unranked teams, LSU, PSU, etc.

The only top 25 teams to not lose to an unranked oponent is Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, Boise State and Utah. I say screw giving auto bids to conference champs. Are we really going to say that BC or VT deserves a BCS bid over Boise (who will be left out) or Ohio State (who could be left out but doubtful)? What a JOKE!

That is what you should really be complaining about. The ACC doesn't deserve to send anyone to a BCS bowl, EVER! They SUCK!

Florida is out they lost to Mississippi.

USC is out they lost to an unranked Oregon State.

Penn state is out, they lost to unranked Iowa.

I agree with Tek's comment regarding BC/VT. Those are two lousy football teams and that they will take Boise or OSU's spot in a BCS game is ridiculous.

To me, the choice between Boise and Ohio State is simple. Boise State. They did not lose a game on their schedule. Sure they didn't play USC or Penn State, but they beat a team that finished the season in the BCS top 20. They did that on the road. Ohio State can't say that. Ohio State beat up on the Big 10 little brothers and lost to the 2 real opponents on their schedule. We will never know, but I can't see that Penn State team going to Boise and coming out with a win like they did in Columbus.

In the end, though, Ohio State is certainly going to play in a BCS game over Boise. OSU fans travel unbelievably well and we all know that money drives college football. Add on the fact that Utah already has a spot and I just don't see the big wigs giving 2 non-BCS schools a shot at the big boys.

How are they two lousy football teams? Because they play in an evenly matched conference, that doesn't have just three teams that beat on everyone else? I'm sorry, but I just don't buy the "everyone besides the SEC, Big 12 South and USC suck" argument that is happening right now.

Many conferences are top heavy right now, the ACC is not. I'm not saying it's as good as the SEC or the Big 12 south, but I think the ACC champ is certainly a very good football team. Just because there is parody in the league and it doesn't have a 10 win team doesn't make it a bad league.

It's funny, the MAC is the same way alot of years, but we'll all complain when our league gets no respect for being cannablistic. So I'd have trouble agreeing that another league "isn't worthy."

OSU fans go out for a week... Boise State fans will come for three days. The economic impact of Ohio State is greater, and this will be the deciding factor!

I definitely hope the BCS commissioners have their heads on straight here ... Boise is 12-0, have thoroughly crushed nearly all of their competition, and have to their name the winner of arguably the greatest BCS bowl ever played.

OhioSt has two losses, in their both of their big games of the season in terms of national title race, one of which by four - five possessions, and the other loss at home to a team that lost to Iowa. Lou Holtz called them the biggest surprise team of the year in that they are so surprisingly underachieving based off of the returning talent, so even in most of their wins they have struggled mightily. If OhioSt thinks they belong in a BCS game, they shouldn't have given heart attacks to their big money donors in games vs Ohio and Troy. Oh ... and OhioSt thoroughly embarrassed themselves in their last two BCS bowls and are the most responsible party in the national view of the Big 10 as a joke conference.

I'm holding out hope here that the BCS commissioners will do the responsible thing and award the team that has outperformed expectations instead of underachieving and realize that inviting Boise St will bring a ton of enthusiasm from what happened two years ago. I'm just worried that the BC$ will go for the team with more big money people backing it, and I would call that a travesty.

I think its the bowls who pick and not the commissioners. We could email that specific bowl....i think likely the sugar bowl?

From what I have been hearing here in Columbus and from a friend who is a Texas fan, the most likely scenario is Texas vs. OSU in the Fiesta Bowl. There is a chance OSU could play Florida or Alabama in the Sugar Bowl as well.

And, the BCS commissioners only select the teams for the championship game. All other bowls are selected by the bowl games themselves. I know what a lot of you think of Kirk Herbstreit and that he is a "homer" for the major programs but he did make a good point yesterday about the OSU-Boise argument. How much "buzz" will there be about a Texas-Boise game compared to the "buzz" for a Texas-OSU game nationally? Can anyone actually say it is even close? He admitted that the bowls don't always do what is right but they do what is best for them, just like any business would do. And the best thing for the Fiesta Bowl is having OSU play Texas.
