UT QB injured in scrimmage

Post by factman »

For what it is worth, I hear form a good source, that Toledo QB Aaron Opelt injured his shoulder today in practice, and it might be rather serious. I do know that he also had some shoulder problems in high school. I was told that Coach Beckman is going "full contact" including his QB's, so the possibility of more injuries, is a very likely possibility.

Never good to hear anyone hurt. Hope he recovers fully.

Exactly. We need him next year!

Seriously though, I hope he's able to make a complete recovery, for his own health most of all.

Mark my words...in a not too distant time the Rocket faithful are going to be regretting this coaching decision. The guy just reminds me waaaaay to much of a coach we just got rid of.

Hey, maybe he's still on our side. In that case, it's VERY smart!! Either that or he got there and realized the toledo players are a bunch of wimps that need to toughen up. Either one is probable.

Probably the best thing for you to do would be to approach Barry Church or Opelt and tell them that they are wimps. Let them know its just constructive criticism, you know, and that you're just trying to help. I'm pretty sure they'll appreciate the opportunity to discuss it with you. ;-)

Dude, you obviously don't know Metz. He is almost bigger than Church and Opelt combined! My money's on Metz. You might want to pick a lineman next time ;)

Wrong again, Tom. I've met him and he's large. He is not a well conditioned, 225 pound Division 1 athlete with a regular, monitored strength program in his immediate background. I'm guessing Metz is thinking how easy it would be to take your money by putting HIS on Church or Opelt.

Barry Church has big muscles and he could beat you up probably.

From speaking with many a bouncer, football players are usually nothing without a posse of friends around them.

One on One, I will still take Metz...besides, I doubt Barry wants to risk his pro career on a Falcon fan. ;)

Point, but I doubt Barry will be playing any pro ball. I just learned from some Temple fans that the NFL doesn't know the MAC exists. But I'm pretty sure my dad could whip your dad. ;-)

I love how this has turned into me vs UT football players. This is classic.

Also, from being a bouncer, I can tell you that statement is very true most of the time. I've seen a few bigger football players get knocked down by some no-names at bars before. It really is the size of the fight in the dog.
