Whine about it a little more. Geeze. No matter what happens, it's clear to me that the crowd for this game will undoubtedly be in favor of OSU. If I were Toledo, I'd make as much money as I could off the Buckeye faithful. Sounds to me like they're doing just what they should be.

AD O'Brien doesn't see Blue and Gold or Scarlet and Gray, he's seeing a lot of green these days

"The hard version reads that Toledo wanted your money, got it and is willing to live with the possible public-relations fallout of being dubbed by some OSU fans as being more about greed than goodwill".
OSU accusing someone else of greed?

Please. When a MAC school plays in Cbus, the CHEAPEST seats are $65 or so each. They get over 100,000. I couldn't care less what OSU fans thing about this. Why wouldn't UT try to make as much money possible? OSU does it every year playing 7-8 home games. Talk about hypocrites...and since when does UT or any other school need to offer "goodwill" to OSU?
It never stops with these people.

I imagine that they couldn't care less what you think either...since it is an OSU @ UT game. BG is not involved so your opinion doesn't mean anything.
I didn't read the article so I don't know what it referring too but from what I hear is that UT changed their rules. I don't know if it is true or not but they were requiring people to make minimum $100 donation to the Rocket club just to have a chance to buy UT V OSU tickets. Then they changed their rules and opened the last couple of thousand for public sale without the required donation.
Is that the same thing the article is about? If so, the only people complaining are those who had to pay the $100 donation plus ticket price when they could have gotten one for face value and saved $100. It is my understanding (again didn't read the article, just what I have heard on radio) that UT didn't advertise the fact that there would be a public sale. That is the part that seems kind of shady to me. It is, however, their home game and they set the rules so I don't mind.
I think you guys would be just as upset if YOU paid the extra cash for the donation to have a shot to get tickets just to find out 2 months later that you didn't have to. But once again, because it happens to OSU fans it is ok with you. 99% of those OSU fans are not even the obnoxious fans that you complain about.

It is not about offering Goodwill. They didn't advertise the fact that there would be a public sale for tickets that did not require a $100 donation to the Rocket Club. So they kind of tricked all of these people into paying extra money that they did not know that they would not have had to pay.
UT changed their rules on the fly and you have to admit that YOU would be pissed if someone did that to you.
I personally don't mind because I understand they set the rules because it is their home game.
It almost seems like unfair sales practices but whatever i got my tix coming.

Tek, how hard is it for you to click on a link and skim over a brief article? You just wrote three paragraphs asking what the article was about when you probably could have found out for yourself in half the time it took you to type them. You never cease to amaze...
And false advertising? F**K 'em! Toledo agreed to this game knowing that 80% of the crowd would be filled with jack ass OSU fans like yourself who never attended the school (well, in your case, never attended until you were shamed into it

), so why shouldn't they soak those people for every penny they are willing to fart out? They set the initial terms, weeded out all of the d-bags that they were willing to drop at least $200 just to say they were there, and now they are selling off what wasn't claimed in a down economy. I wouldn't feel bad for the people who got 'screwed' (unless you were one of them, which would be hilarious), but instead laugh at their stupidity.
Ohio State fans are as illogical as children, and I think I'm being too kind in that assessment.

Seems to me that UT set out with one practice in mind. They planned for that to be the only way of OSU fans obtaining tickets. Several OSU fans bought them under that set of rules, but they didn't sell out. UT saw this and wants to still sell those tickets if they can, so they decided to lift the $100 donation. That kind of thing happens all the time in the world of ticketing. As it gets closer to the deadline, if tickets aren't sold completely out, the venue/parties involved would rather sell them at a lower rate than they would have accepted before than let them go empty and not make anything off of them. I honestly see nothing wrong with UT's actions here, regardless of my feelings about OSU.

This sounds like a consumer getting pissed off that the $2000 tv they just bought is now on sale for $1000. It's simple economics and as much as it pains me to say, UT has a very good deal in place for this game.

One other note: the tix that are going to the public are not "priority seating" whatever that is-if you dropped the $hundred you got better seats. Major non-story here.

Exactly, the folks who paid the $100 (a whopping 240 of them...ohhhhhh) got way better seats than what is being offered now. And the fee was only to keep a bunch of stupid OSU fans from buying virtually all the tickets from UT before UT fans had a chance to get them.
And I'm sure Michigan and Penn State give OSU 40,000 seats at less than face value too!

I like how you conveniently don't read the part where I said that I personally don't care because it is Toledo's home game and can do what they want.
I see both sides.
And no, I got my tickets for FREE. My dad's boss is Alumni and a booster and is high on the ladder and gave his tickets to my dad who in turn gave them to my wife and I.
Also, I don't want to see any bitching the next time that you think someone puts the screw job on you guys.
How are the people stupid for buying the tickets when they had to pay the donation? They were told that was the only way they could get tickets. how were they supposed to know they weren't going to sell out?
That was a well thought out comment by you
If that makes them stupid in your eyes then you are an idiot for saying it.
