We usually keep WLW on in the kitchen here, so I've been enjoying catching those on periodically. They really are funny.

"Maybe you need to schedule more games against Toledo and Navy..... well, Toledo at least."

Priceless!

I can't think of a team that deserves to be mocked more.

Out of curiosity, what surprises you about it? WLW is the flagship station for UC athletics, and, at least in my experience, the OSU hyper-fan is a rarer breed in Cincinnati than in other parts of the state.

It really is, I remember a couple years a OSU site had a story about the Cincinnati area having the least amount of OSU fans in Ohio

Yeah. Really, it's more of a baseball and college basketball town anyway. But between UC, Xavier and UK, there's a lot taken out of the potential OSU fanbase.

Yeah, by comparison, up in Cleveland, hardly anybody supports Kent State, Akron, Cleveland State, etc. It's just as bad as Columbus when it comes to buckeye honks.

Well, generally speaking, UC, Xavier and UK are usually considered "bigger" schools in terms of how prolific their athletic programs are than Kent State, Akron or especially Cleveland State. Also, Kent State and Akron, while near Cleveland, are not located in the city, the way UC and Xavier are with Cincy. And while UK is obviously not in Cincy, it's close enough, big enough, and there are enough UK transplants in Cincinnati that they take out a chunk too. So maybe that has something to do with it.

That and well... Cleveland sucks. :P

Yd,

I think it's because of me having worked for both Jacor and Clear Channel. Jacor (based in Cinci) ran things like a frat party, and encouraged lots of fun, on the air and off. When Clear Channel acquired them, things were really reigned in and a lot of the fun was gone. A CC station actually running these surprises me because of that fact.
